    Default Very very tough ones!

    Please help!!!
I am desperately looking for two songs, I don't know their titles or singers.

1st. is an old song, sad, something like''Nights in white satin'', performed by a male, soft voice, with a background guitar and some lyrics for the refrain are ''Out of love...''or something that rhymes with this.....I only listened to this song once on a poor radio broadcast.

2nd. is a 80's maybe??? song, performed by a girl or girls, in the style of ''My Sharona'' and the refrain is something like ''...I don't think you'll understand..."
I know these are little information but...maybe somebody will help, thanks in advance.

Is the first one - Air Supply?

No, GazzaB, this is not it, but thank you. My song is sadder than that and older I think. Maybe 60's or 70's.

First one is Moody Blues - ''Nights in White Satin'' 1972

Can't think of anything else offhand for the first one.

And for the second - I know nothing about them by maybe The Domestics' Anorexic Love Song based on the lyric and their sound?

DJ Maxx---first one is like ''Nights in White Satin'' but it's not that...not even Moody ....thank you.

GazzaB....the style of Domestics is right, but that's not it.... curious is that both songs are extremly well known. You would recognize them both in seconds if you'd hear them. Thank you.

I guess the use of "Something Like"confused me. You used that term for 2 different meanings.....but I get it now.

The closest song I know of to NIWS is:

    "White Bird" - It's a Beautiful Day

The second one is a wild guess.......

"Head Over Heels" - The Go Go's

DJ Maxx...white bird-is very alike, same style, but that's not it.
Second is with less rythm than in the song I am looking for. Thank you.

Claybricks "stole" my guess for the first song...

For the second song, the reference to the song "My Sharona" is throwing me for loop.
The lyrics remind me of "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey (of course, not female vocals).

    You’d better forget it
    You’ll never get it

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, "Nights In White Satin" has a verse about "not understanding"

Gazing at people, some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going through they can't understand.
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end.

(I am obviously desperate and need more clues)
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

.....and the second one could be...."mickey" ...by....toni basil

MICKEY by TONI BASIL it is!!! Thank you very much Tyresius!!!
Unfortunately Feelings is not the first song request...new hint as I remember...at the refrain the lead male singer that says something like ''Out of love?'' sings along with a female vocal in the background. There is a guitar and an electric piano that follows after each line of the lead singer... I please you all to continue searching for this song. Thank you.

    slave to love....bryan ferry ?

Tyresius...when I started playing "slave to love" I thought that was it..it is very alike, same style, but this is not the song I am looking for. In my requested song the male singer has a little less soft voice than bryan ferry. Thank you and please try some more.

    Tyresius, Excellent find on #1!!!

My next wild guesses for #2 are:
"Amie (Falling In And Out Of Love)" by Pure Prairie League
"All Out Of Love" by Air Supply

There was another song from the 1970's by someone like Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds or England Dan and John Ford Coley with a lyric like "fallin in and out of love" but I can't pull it out of these old grey cells...
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

Atmaster: These are not what I am looking for...English is not my native language so, maybe I am wrong when I insist that the lyrics for refrain are ''Out of love''. You should try to find this song thinking about the other things I describe. Thank you.

i wonder.............similar to "slave to love" ???? could "out of love " possibly be "avalon"...also by bryan ferry?

give it a try ...just a guess.
