LOL... I was expecting it and I was already thinking of it, if I can do a good translation. Lets try. Some of the words a little bit tough and direct talking I cannot give a 100% translationa but I can give you the meaning of it

I don´t like to have a girl from an alpine hut

    Oh my, oh my
when I go for finding a girl
    then I am for sure
she has to be round (that means very feminin figure)
    and a littlie bit sexy
    oh my

    My, oh my
most of the people have a figure
    very skinny and scraggy (thin)
    my, oh my,
    I don´t want such a girl

    THIS IS THE REFRAIN
I do not like a girl form an alpine hut
as she has not big calfs (leg)
I loke a girl from the town
    who has big calfs

    Mei, ja mei
die Moni mit de rot'n Hoar
is schena nu wia voriges Jahr
Hat a gradnit wenig auf da Waag

    My, oh my
    Moni with her red hair
is much more beautiful then lase year
and has a lot to give when she stands on the scale

    Mei - u mei

da renn i liaba glei davon

    hint'n und voran

    My, oh my
I already know Annamiarl (Annamiarl is a short form of Anne-Marie)
    I better run and hide
    she has nothing
neither in the front nor on her back side

    Nice is the .....? Dance
nice is the alpine chain (?)
    up at the alpine huts
    as it....... very nicely

OK, the last phrase I didn´t understand. And I am not sure was an ALMENKRANZ is. (FLower? folkloristic hair dress ?)

Cows, calves and sheeps usually live in th alps in very high places from April till october. So can have the best grasses and herbs for their mil. During this time a girl used to live there in a hut and she took care about the animals. A dairymaid. And the song is about thait he dosnßt like to have a dairymaid.

    Hello Tahira

Thanks for the song and the translation and the additional information. Its great and I love it. I haven't taken time to look at his other songs yet but if they are at all like this one I'm sure I will love them.

    Hi Macbard,
during the night I was thinking of
if HIATAMADL means a girl from the hut (Hütte) or shepherds girls (Hirtenmädchen).
I am not sure, but it´s almost the same. Looking for the animals, to get good milk for making cheese, butter etc...

Now I know a little bit more:

    Hiatamadl definetelly means Shepherds girl

Almenkranz is some flowers and berbalds bound together with which are the cows and sheeps are decorated when they go up to the alpine hut or come donw in the autums. Usually the "down comping" in the autums is always accompanied with a festival (singing, dancing, church etc).

Landertanz I guess there is a typing mistake and should be Landlertanz, this is a traditional folcloric dance; something like that
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiRRHAfbuCU
costume and rhythm depend on the region

and this is what it looks liek when the animals come downhill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHBqyXHXx_c

    Hi Tahira

Thanks for the new links. Its interesting to learn about different parts of the world and some of what life is like there. I was looking around for other songs by Hubert von Goisern and found some I like but haven''t searched for lyrics for all of them yet. It is interesting to take a trip through Youtube from one song to another and see what you come up with. Thanks again for all the videos you have pointed me to and the additional background for the songs. I find it fascinating. Oh yeah, thanks for looking over the Michelle song too. I guess that one line was just to bring to mind a certain image.
