Can Jazz and Hip-hop mix?

Do you think hip-hop with Jazz intrumentals can result in good music?
I heard Sergio Mendes' Timeless cd at Universal and it's a chill cd. But I'd really like to hear what everyone else thinks about it before it hit stores February 14th.

Personally, I think it can too. But some people thinks that jazz lessens the hip-hop sound. I think they compliment each other and the tracks on the Timeless cd are good examples, especially the one with India.Arie. I can't believe no one has heard of this yet. I feel like i'm talking to myself.
