Default New Os Mutantes cd - Brazilian To English (Titles only)

Hello - the new Os Mutantes cd was released 08 September 2009 & I have received a copy - it's awesome. But I don't know the titles.
Can somone please tell me what these titles mean in english.
My attempts for translation are in parenthesis:

The title of the cd is called: Haih Or Amortecedor (I have no idea what this means)?

    1 - Hymns Of The World P.1
2 - Querida Querida (like in spanish this means "darling darling")?
    3 - Teclar (typing)?
    4 - 2000 e Agarrum (I have no idea what this means)
    5 - Bagdad Blues
    6 - O Careca (The Bald Head)?
    7 - O Mensageiro (The Messenger)?
8 - Anagrama (Anagram - means like re-arranging letters in words to make new words)?
9 - Samba Do Fidel (Samba of Fidel - like Fidel Castro??)?
10 - Neurociência do Amor (Neuroscience of love? or Brain love?)?
11 - Nada Mudou (Nothing moves)?
12 - Gopala Krishna Om (I have no idea what this is either)?
    13 - Hymns Of The World P.2

Thanks - I appreciate any help!

    Default Translation

    Hello,

I found some information on this CD at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/07/ar.../07choice.html. According to the article, haih means raven in the Shoshone language (I suppose that is why there is a raven on the CD cover). Amortecedor means muffler or shock absorber in Portuguese. So, the title can be literally translated as Raven or Muffler, but the meaning still seems obscure.

You translated most of the titles correctly.
    1 - Hymns Of The World P.1
2 - Querida Querida: Darling, darling
3 - Teclar: Typing or Texting
4 - 2000 e Agarrum: Agarrum seems to be a contraction of agarra um, which means catch one, so if this is correct, the title means Two Thousand and Catch One. The article says it is a reference to Os Mutantes' previous song 2001.
    5 - Bagdad Blues
    6 - O Careca: The Bald Man
    7 - O Mensageiro: The Messenger
8 - Anagrama: Anagram (re-arranging letters in words to make new words)
9 - Samba Do Fidel: Fidel's Samba (probably refers to Fidel Castro)
10 - Neurociência do Amor: Neuroscience of Love
11 - Nada Mudou: Nothing Has Changed
12 - Gopala Krishna Om: Gopala and Krishna are related Hindu deities, and Om is a syllable with a religious importance in Hinduism. These words are from Sanskrit.
    13 - Hymns Of The World P.2

    Default Thanks!

Thanks hdave - thats Great - I appreciate the clarifications.

I happened to find the same information about haih meaning raven in the Shoshone language...but I also found that Amortecedor means the same thing in another obscure Indian language. So it's almost that the title means "Raven or Raven". Odd, but interesting.

    Well thanks !
