    Default Kara çadır düzdedir

    Hi, cristine

This lyrics , though short, is hard to translate.
It's taken from a type of fokloric song, called "türkü".

These are lively pieces of music belonging to those type
where the rhytme of the words is of great importance.

They are written by "aşık"'s (meaning in a narrow sense mainly man in love, or
lover) who have left home mostly for a girl he was in love and wandering from
one village to another desperately. They compose music instantly, i.e. improvisé
as the french men say with their turkish musical instrument, namely, "saz".

The hero of the story is a girl named "Emine". He talks about her as Emine'm,
meaning Emine that belongs to me, that will belong to me, the one I love
but since this song has been written he hasn't reached or joined her yet.

The story teller belongs to a family where they spend their summers at higher
regions, and winters at lower, flat places.

düzlük --> düz (shortening. don't get confused.)
    flat place plain (flat)

As we examine the lyrics we see that after each line there is a repetition more
    or less the same.

"Aman aman" is something like "hey hey". These are meaningless words indicating
reaction to an event, used in the song to get on with the rhytme.

"Yavru" is like baby (fig.) in english with a slight difference.
It indicates a young beautiful girl.

"Gönül" is an important word. It is translated as 'heart' to english but it
must be taken in a broader sense. "Gönül" is the part of the soul
which resists to the logical side. I don't have the same sense
    in english.

"Güzel" used as a noun indicating a beautiful girl. Since all girls are
beautiful it is better to say it indicates a girl.

"Kara" is same as "siyah" which means black, however while "siyah" is
used mostly for color indication, "kara" is used for things which
one does not want to remember, with bad history, something causing
    sorrow.(not always of course)

After all these explanations I am sure you will be disappointed by the words.
However I will try my best.

NOW for the translation (until somebody does better)

    ---------------------------------------
    Kara çadır düzdedir
    Black tent in the plain
    ---------------------------------------

Kara çadır düzdedir (Aman aman eminem)
Black tent (is) in the plain,

Top zülüfler yüzdedir (Yavru da güzel eminem)
Curly hair (is) in the face, (She is also young my beautiful Emine)

Oniki gelin sevdim (Aman aman eminem)
    I have loved twelf brides
(still loving but they married to someone else, i guess)

Gene gönlüm sendedir (Yavru da güzel eminem)
To you, my heart still belongs.
((however) my heart still belongs to you).

İndim dereye durdum (Aman aman eminem)
By the river where I stopped
(I got down by the river and stopped)

Bir çift güvercin vurdum (Yavru da güzel eminem)
A couple of pigeons which I shot
(I shot a couple of pigeons.)

Bir güzelin uğruna (Aman aman eminem)
For the sake of a beauty

Onbeş altın bozdurdum (Yavru da güzel eminem)
    Fifteen golds that I broke.
    (I broke fifteen golds.)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I could not get what the black tent stands for, but it may have
a story that I know not of. I hope you enjoy it, never the less.

    Best wishes

    ET.
