Default Petek Dınçöz - kördüğüm Feat. Kutsi

    Petek Dincöz:
    sensiz yasamaliyim
    sensiz basarmaliyim
senden arta kalan bu dünyanin tadini doyasiya cikarmaliyim

    Kutsi:
affet affet .. forgive (me) forgive
    yargisiz infazetme beni ne olursun
allahinin askina affet .. for the love of God forgive me

    erkekler cocuktur askim
bende daha yeni büyüdüm .. I too have grown up
    belki cizmeyi aştım ama
bak yine geri döndüm .. look, I came back again

    Petek Dincöz:
sen hayatta gördügüm en vicdansız adamsın .. in life, you're the most shameless man
benim hayatım kördügüm.. my life's a knot
sen ne kadar rahatsin .. oh how comfortable you are
kader mi keder mi bilmem is it fate or sorrow? I don't know
kadinlar hep bekler mi .. women always wait?
kördügüm bir kördügüm daha .. a knot and another one

    Kutsi:
    affet affet
    yargisiz infazetme beni ne olursun
    allahinin askina affet

    (lutfen)
The hours of pain have yielded good,
    Which prosperous days refused;
As herbs, though scentless when entire,
    Spread fragrance when they’re bruised.

hi sohuda, I completed the parts you left out. (I noticed you always have P&P avatars, that's one of my favourite books. I enjoyed the movie too =) )

sensiz yasamaliyim/I should live without you
sensiz basarmaliyim/I should succeed without u
senden arta kalan bu dünyanin tadini doyasiya cikarmaliyim/I need to enjoy this world that was leftover after you

    Kutsi:
affet affet .. forgive (me) forgive
yargisiz infaz etme beni ne olursun/Do not convict me without fair trial
allahinin askina affet .. for the love of God forgive me

    erkekler cocuktur askim/Men are child-like
ben de daha yeni büyüdüm .. I too have (just) grown up
belki cizmeyi aştım ama/Perhaps I crossed the line
bak yine geri döndüm .. look, I came back again

    Petek Dincöz:
sen hayatta gördügüm en vicdansız adamsın .. in life, you're the most shameless man/You are the most cruel man I have ever seen in my life
benim hayatım kördügüm.. my life's a knot
sen ne kadar rahatsin .. oh how comfortable you are
kader mi keder mi bilmem is it fate or sorrow? I don't know
kadinlar hep bekler mi .. (do) women always wait?
kördügüm bir kördügüm daha .. a knot and another one

    Kutsi:
    affet affet
    yargisiz infazetme beni ne olursun
    allahinin askina affet
Bana muvaffakiyetsizlestiricilestiriveremeyebilecekleri mizdenmissinizcesineden daha uzun bir kelime bul çekirge.

    Default Notes on translation: Kördüğüm

The song is about "Kördüğüm" and it wasn't translated.

    Düğüm: knot

    Dictionary says deadLock,... for kördüğüm

I think it should be translated as it is

Kördüğüm: blind knot, because that's what it says. Well that is clear for me but in case it is nor clear for english speaking people it may be translated as

undoable knot, because that is what it is.

    And the line

    erkekler cocuktur askim/Men are child-like
Sorry derin, I will never intrude in the affairs of a translator but I'm questioning myself too,
are we staying in between the writer and the reader while using our opinions in the translations
while making it look different, or perhaps better than what it is
and guessing what the lyrics writer might have said, since you and me already know that

erkekler çocuktur aşkım // Men are children, my Love

That's what I've been doing most of the time, but that makes a bit difficult for those trying to learn turkish and I think Milena does it best.

Well, would I have written these lines if it weren't about men, who knows?
    (no offense)

Yes, your suggestions look better than knot. Thanks.

I usually open a parenthesis and write explanations for lines like the above but I figured sohuda is already at the level of Turkish to see, after reading my answer, that the Turkish line is actually "Men are children". From "my" point of view there's not much difference between "men are children" and "men are like children", you may think differently when you see the lines. You're welcome to add alternative translations or correct a line you aren't satisfied with. No offence taken =)

My signature means "Find me a longer word than <(as if) of those (people) whom we cannot render unsuccessful> grasshopper" I admit it doesn't make much sense LoL
