Default Solved: Old song REM-like voice

    Dear people,

First I'm sorry for my bad writing. English aint my mother tongue.
I've been searching through all the lyrics site's and hit charts but couldn't find this song. I've heard it ones on the radio when I were on my way to class.

I don't know exactly what is being sang.

Its being sang by a male singer who has a bit of a REM-like voice. If you find a song but you find the voice not REM-like then don't hesitate just post it, Cause I've could be wrong.

In the chorus he is singing something like:
    coming to california, california, california,
    coming to california, california, california.

I don't know if those are really the right words. It could be something else that sounds like it. "Coming" could be "calling". "California" could be another geograpic place that sounds like that word.

The music is being played by a drumkit and an acoustic guitar as far as I know.

something liek 60s-70s-early80s maybe during Beatles time-area. It would match the performance of Neil Diamond, George Harrison and many others.

If you know a song but it does not match with all the requirements post it anyway. I appreciate Every reply

    Thanks in advance

    Melvin

I was at the gym today and I think I heard your song. They gave the title at the end called "Going to California" but not the group. It was definately a new version that I never heard before. I kept hearing the word "Town" and the phrases "Not LA" and "Going to California" many times, but it was too loud in there to pick much up. Searching seems useless, (all you get is Zeppelin),but maybe someone else has heard a song with "Not LA" in the lyrics.

Nice tune diplomat, but not the one I heard.

My song had a Lenny Kravitz - "Fly Away" type sound.

Hey BNF. That is so close but no cigar.

OK... I just heard it again so it's getting a lot of play on Alternative Rock stations today.
    I'm guessing it's very new.

    Picked Up this line...

"I really want to go to town, I really want to take that ride"
    ..................................................
"LA no" Going to California, "Green Light Go"

    No luck with searches.

My wild guess is "America" by Simon and Garfunkel

They've all gone to look for America
All gone to look for America
All gone to look for America
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

You mentioned Lenny Kravitz - presumably not his song 'California'? It's 2004 - but sounds 70's:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgtVaVahwYY

Zakk Wylde (Ozzie Osbourne's guitarist/Black Label Society) covered Led Zeppelin's song called 'Going to California' -

Not sure it's what you want - great cover though......

    Similar titles:

    Dan Zanes: California

Tyler Grant 'Goin' Back to California'

Blue Steel - Mama I'm Goin to California

Askeleton - Someone Moved to Suburban California

    Vampire Weekend - California English
