On 1st march we have a biiiiiig spring celebration. It`s called "Baba Marta" or "Grandmother Marta" in english... We put a special thing called "martenitsa" on our wrists...

I saw posts earlier about how some people don't like the countries that they live in...well, i gotta say, i love my USA

You get a double red and white twisted thread, and you put it around your wrist, like a bracelet. The tradition calls for wearing this martenitsa until you see a stork or swallow, then you tie it to a tree. That is, the martenitsa, not the stork.
