Guys, I have problems with ATL... When i click on Slavic languages and then to bulgarian/macedonian he page refreshes and i go back to the forums home page And that 10 times each time... Do you have something like that happening to you, or the problem is in my laptop LOL

i've had that when i try to read threads in this subforum. seems to have gone now, though.

how come bulgarian and macedonian don't have padezhi?

I'm not a linguist, but I think Bulgarian has 3 cases that are in use nowadays :] In my opinion Macedonian is Bulgarian so I guess that explains any lack of cases in that "language", although it surprises me they haven't adopted the cases used in Serbian :]

*I've read in some historical books that Bulgarian has a non-Slavic grammar.. we've based our grammar on the language of the Proto-Bulgarians while the Vocabulary was mainly Slavic :]

well, i heard the bulgarian non-slavic grammar comment before, and i don't believe it makes sense - proto-bulgars were of (primarily!) turkic origin, speaking a turkic language, and modern turkish at least has 6 cases.

Don't forget that quite a few centuries are separating us from them, and there's been plenty of time for both Turkish and Bulgarian to change a lot.. Yet again, this theory is just one way of explaining that "mysterious" lack of cases and, at the same time - a boost to the national ego ;]
Anyway ... I better leave that to the more enlightened forumers :]
