YES!!! Exactly!!! (by the way, not the best movie, but decent enough I guess... I just ended up renting it, and was glad I didn't see it in theatres)

I figure the Romanians must have a word for mixed eng/ro, but wasn't sure what the word was so I made up "romângleză"!! xD

It sounds a pretty cool word. If it doesn't already exist, we'll bring it into use.

Spanglish was the one with Adam Sandler, right? - If it was, it wasn't foarte bun pentru an Adam Sandler movie. (a wee bit of romângleză there for you.)

I replied to your comment about the use of dumneavoastra on your profile, by the way (if you didn't already see it)

    So, how's your Romanian going?

Yeah, I seen it. Just didn't know what to reply with.
Ehh... Unfortunately not so well. I've been busy with other things. I've yet to actually sit down and try to learn new things. I've just got a few words and phrases.
There's a few words that I come across a lot in songs etc. I look them up every now and again and I keep forgetting them.
"înţeles" is one of them. (Just looked it up there LOL).
    "fiecare" is another.
"dintre", "care", "când", "gând", "lânga", "cum", "suflet", "zadar" are a few more.

Yet I usually count to 10 in Romanian. It just somehow comes out.
I was drunk in the early hours of Saturday there and in the taxi I started counting out money outloud in Romanian.
Somehow, it's just stuck there in my mind.

    How's your learning coming on?

I think you mean "înțeleg" or "înțeles"?

What is "zadar"? I know everything else...

Ohhh I just looked up "zadar"...It means "vain" or "futile", vain as in a vain attempt.

As for the verbs, it's easiest to know the infinitives, then how to conjugate--I had a hard time at first, too... But now I can even recognize new verbs!

Here's a site to help you out:
    http://www.verbix.com/languages/romanian.shtml
(even if your computer types the special characters, Verbix doesn't always recognize them, so use the shortcuts they give you!)

And if you have a word you think is a conjugation of a verb but aren't sure...
    http://tools.verbix.com/findverb/
    (same warning applies here!)

    Thanks dragonfly.

A cultural question for some Romanian natives:

In Scotland (and Britain in general) we have a binge drinking culture. Alcohol is also a problem with young people under 18 (the legal age to drink). It's usually a typical weekend hobby because they feel that they have nothing else to do.

I know that in continental Europe, most countries have more relaxed laws for alcohol, such as France, where under 18s have a more sensible and mature approach to alcohol.
What are the alcohol laws and teenage attitudes towards alcohol like in Romania?
What things do they have for teenagers to do at weekends to prevent them from drinking?

Yeah, not to hard to believe, 'cause in France one is allowed to drink by 14. All my relatives tried to impose themselves on me to drink... O_O I didn't, though... I said I was American, and not interested at the time (or now, LOL).
