Default Solved: Need Help Identifying an Instrumental (Have a brief MP3 of the melody)

There is this song that always plays at Denny's when I work, and it is this jazzy kind of folk instrumental that repeats the same melody throughout with some variation. It starts on what sounds like a mandolin and maybe a banjo or acoustic guitar or something and then builds into what sounds like a small jazz ensemble. Anyway, I recorded the basic melody on guitar, not really thinking much about the octave or sound quality or anything, just enough that someone who knew what the song was called could help me out and tell me its title and/or artist so I can look it up at home.

    Here's the recording: http://andylennononojones.fileave.co...strumental.mp3

    Thanks!

Awesome! I'm really psyched that I was able to find out who that group was.

"Midnight in Moscow" is great, too. Would you recommend any other artists along these lines?

Perhaps Kenny Ball & His Jazzmen. The Village Stompers were more so than not a Dixieland genre band. If you search against Dixieland music, you might find more to your liking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixieland
