    Default Badem – Cenetten Beride

Help me, coz sometimes i have problems here, pleeeease

    Gam çekme haline divane gönül
Sana da bulunur ilde neler var
Ayva mı eksik turunç mu yoksa nar
Sun elin beri dalda daha neler var

    Sakının ağalar beyler küçükten
    Yanağı gamzeli eğri bıçaktan
    Arılar bal alır binbir çiçekten
    Nezaket arıda balda neler var

    Karacoğlan der ki yaralı sinem
    Elimden aldırdım gül yüzlü sunam
    Kimi cennet ister kimi cehennem
    Cennetten beride yolda neler var

    Yiğit olan yiğit dağdır kaledir
    Sevmeyin çirkini başa beladır
    Bülbülün feryadı gonca güledir
    Takının güzeller gülde neler var

    Karacoğlan der ki yaralı sinem
    Elimden aldırdım gül yüzlü sunam
    Kimi cennet ister kimi cehennem
    Cennetten beride yolda neler var

    Bunu ben demedim aşıklar diyen
    Şu dertli sineme hançerler vuran
Bilmem boz geyiktir bilmem ak ceylan

    Karacoğlan der ki yaralı sinem
    Elimden aldırdım gül yüzlü sunam
    Kimi cennet ister kimi cehennem
    Cennetten beride yolda neler var
Herkes kendi türküsünü söyler bu şehirde sadece kendi acısına ağlar

Why do people want translation of the songs?
    1. I want to understand the meaning of the nice song clearly
    2. to improve my turkish, that is no enough to understand this song for 100%. So with translation i'll understand the logic of constructions better

I know why the translation is wanted but i asked just because you already know Turkish quite well, as well as to make song translations. It is normal that you cannot fully understand this song because the lyrics belong to Karacaoğlan, an old poet. I don't think any contemporary Turkish speaker can understand these lyrics clearly and so I don't think you can find someone to translate it. Anyway, good luck.

Badem – Cennetten Beride - Beyond the Heaven

Gam çekme haline divane gönül // Don't feel grief for your state, insane heart,
Sana da bulunur ilde neler var // You, too, will find it. Province has all sort of things
Ayva mı eksik turunç mu yoksa nar // Is it quince missing? or orange? If not, is it pomegranate?
Sun elin* beri dalda daha neler var // Reach out your hand*, that branch has still many sort of things

Sakının ağalar beyler küçükten // Lords, do beware of the youngsters,
Yanağı gamzeli eğri bıçaktan // (and) of the curved knife with dimpled cheek
Arılar bal alır binbir çiçekten // Bees collect honey from thousands of flowers
Nezaket arıda balda neler var // Courtesy is what bee has, and so many sort of things, honey has

Karacoğlan der ki yaralı sinem // Karacoğlan says injured is my bossom
Elimden aldırdım gül yüzlü sunam // Slipped through my hands is rose faced beLoved of me
Kimi cennet ister kimi cehennem // Some are after the heaven, and some after the hell
Cennetten beride yolda neler var // Beyond the heaven, along the way what sort of things will there be

Yiğit olan yiğit dağdır kaledir // What's said to be brave is the brave mountain, (and) castle
Sevmeyin çirkini başa beladır // Don't you love the ugly, it's a disaster in the head (*pain in the head)
Bülbülün feryadı gonca güledir // For the rose bud is the wail of nightingale
Takının güzeller gülde neler var // Put on all*, all the beautifuls, rose has all sort of things

Bunu ben demedim aşıklar diyen // it's not me having said it. Lovers did.
Şu dertli sineme hançerler vuran // To that sorrowful bossom of me that daggers hit
Bilmem boz geyiktir bilmem ak ceylan // may it be a gray deer, may it be a white gazella

*suna: male duck; symbol of beloved, or beautiful in the old poetry
*takının: put on all the jewellery, original "sokunun",
    not used today, *takın takıştırın

    Notes:
I've checked Internet for the Lyrics but as usual they are
of one or two origins and "yarım yamalak", let's say
"quick and dirty" as what web is all about, though, sadly,
there are invaluable sources which you can never reach if not by chance.
Luckily I had a few of books about Karacaoğlan. It seems...

Lines of Lyrics have been taken from different poems.
It does not seem to be original. Some words have been
changed. Even what's said to be original is a subject
    of arguements...

    There are in fact five of KaracaoğLan-s (at least);
You should consider them as a Lover of beauty especially
of the beautiful(s). What's different about Karacaoğlan
is that he has/have brought "the facts of Life" into
poetry, in an indirect way, of course... You can see this
in the first part where it says
"don't you be sorry, in this neigbourhood it can
also be found for you at least one female who suits
    your taste"

The following part can also be translated as

Ayva mı eksik turunç mu yoksa nar //
Is it quince missing? or is it orange? If there isn't any pomegranate

Sun elin* beri dalda daha neler var //
reach out your hand*, that branch has still many sort of things

I had problem with "sun elin(i)" but I think translation is correct
though I couldn't find a reasonable meaning for "sun". I guess
that "sun" is the imperative of "sunmak" and "sun elin" becomes
"present your hand"; it's not used nowadays but it seems reasonable.

The following part seems to be a make-up

    Arılar bal alır binbir çiçekten
    Nezaket arıda balda neler var

    and original should be

Arı petek tutar bin bir çiçekten,
Hesap et arıda, balda neler var?

    which can be translated as

A bee makes/prepares a honeycomb out of thousand (and one) flowers
Think about it what (sort of) attributes bee and honey have

and this one can be translated as

Takının güzeller gülde neler var //
Put on all the jewellery beautifuls, see what rose has (take rose as an example)

    and finally

Bilmem boz geyiktir bilmem ak ceylan
I don't know if it is/was a gray deer or a white gazella
*May be it is/was a gray deer, may be a white gazella
    (*not used today)
