Shlomi Saranga is an Israeli "Greek" singer-that is, he mostly sings in Greek, both old classics and more modern songs. His voice is very similar to the voice of the Greek cult artist Stelios Kazantzidis, and he has also recorded a whole album with Kazantzidis' songs:

To get back to your question, and considering the Greek connection, I think that "mono" refers to the Greek word "monos", which means alone, that is "levad" in Hebrew. "Mono" in Greek actually means "only", but my hunch is that what he really wants to say is "monos".

The interesting thing about Saranga (and that goes for many other "Greek" singers in Israel) is that he doesn't have any Greek connection and that he doesn't speak Greek. I think his mother is from a Turkish Sephardic family and his father has Spanish roots. He learnt Greek from listening to records.....and his pronunciation is actually quite good.

Thanks for the info! Omg, he isn't Greek? haha He sings even Hebrew with a "sort of" Greek accent!! And I don't understand Greek but I tought also his accent is good, sounds like other Greeks. Sarah
