    Where is my french teacher?

    I'm taking a leaf out of Gagan's book

    Si parfois tu as du mal à avancer

    si = If?
    parfois = sometimes?
    tu = ?
    as = ?
    du = ?
    mal = ?
    a = ?
    advancer = ahead/forward?

    Only he's much better at it than me

    If you want to break it:

    Si = If
    parfois = sometimes
    tu = you
    as = have
    du = some
    mal = pain
    à = when
    avancer = going ahead

    "If sometimes you have some pain when going ahead"
    I know it doesn't make sense literally, but it's a french expression:
    "avoir du mal à" = find it hard to

    So it would actually be:
    Si parfois tu as du mal à avancer = If sometimes you find it hard to go ahead

    Si tu te sens seul, si tu te sens paumé
    If you feel lonely, if you feel lost

    Si = if (I remembered! lol)
    tu = you
    te = ?
    sens = sense/feel?
    seul = lonely?
    paume = lost?

    Merci!!

    Te - you, but as a reflexive pronoun or a direct object pronoun.

    Tu te laves - you wash yourself.

    Je t'embrace - I hug you (you are receiving the action).

    Je l'ai donné a toi! - I gave it to you (this is an indirect object pronoun, meaning that you are receiving the action indirectly; i.e. 'you' is preceded by a preposition, in this case, 'to').

    Ça c'est pour toi. - That's for you (again, IOP, the 'you' being preceded by 'for' this time).

    Seul - alone
    Seulement - only
    Tout(e)(s) seul(e)(s) - all alone (=by my/your/him/her/our/themself(ves) )

    Paume - palm (of your hand)
    Perdu - lost (this used to be part of my signature)

    Edit: LOL ya Noor, just saw the quote at the top

    Paumé - lost, confused, godforsaken... Not really "lost" as in a forest, etc. but "lost" as in not clicking Or confused/godforsaken as Google says

    Also:
    "tu te sens" = you feel yourself
    "sentir" is a reflexive verb when you feel an emotion, so it's really "se sentir" (also found in Spanish)
