    Default Identify a song?

Hi, I've been searching all over for a song but all I have is bits and pieces of its melody. No lyrics, artist, etc.
Anyways, here's what the pre-chorus and chorus sound like: http://www.zshare.net/audio/76693989623c1eee/ (thank you fence sitter for the new link)
Sorry about the nuh-nuh-nuhs, like I said, I can't recall any lyrics whatsoever.

    thanks

    easy share......not very easy.....

www.4shared.com has a built in player......no waiting / no need for downloads.

How about sharing a few more details like

    Male / Female
    Aprox. year
    Genre
    Where did you hear it

    Sorry I don't know.

I downloaded it, which is what I prefer to do, and converted to mp3 and uploaded to zshare for those who don't like downloading.

    spl0uf_song.mp3 - 0.12MB

I'm not keen on 4shared.com as it wont let IPs download where they can't resolve a singular unique and "true" IP. I use a proxied IP service and have only had a few web based softwares that I'm aware of, ever probe hard enough to pick this up. I sort of avoid services that need to probe that deeply, unless it is actually a very secure service.

www.zshare.net works fine for me Fence Sitter. Appreciate the upload.....

It does sound familiar to me..... like the beginning of some old soul tune. Will have to wait and see if OP comes back to share more info.

Thank you for your replies, and thanks fence sitter for reuploading it
Anyway, it's a pop-rocky kind of song, similar to maroon 5 and other such bands - maybe a little heavier on the guitar than maroon 5. Halfway between fall out boy and maroon 5. I'm pretty sure it isn't old at all, probably mid to late 2000s (don't take my word for it, I might be completely wrong). Male singer. Come to think of it, I think the singer has a similar voice to the singer of fall out boy. I last heard it on TV about a month ago (I wasn't watching the screen - probably a commercial). I knew the song from before.

I recall the very beginning of the song: it starts out with the same repetitive pounding (but soft) drum beat: thud - thud - thud - thud - thud... 2 beats per second approximately. No other instruments.
Then an electric guitar comes in over the beats, the same 2 notes over and over.
Let's pretend that these two notes are B and C. This is how it goes:
BCBCBCB (going down in intensity) - space - BCBCBCB (ditto)
C on a beat, B between two beats.
There are actually that exact number of Cs and Bs in every riff.

There is also a very recognizable part (possibly the bridge) in head voice, reminiscent (in its concept) of the ooo-hooo-oo part in "miss you" by the rolling stones.
Here's what it would sound like if the first note was a C:
    C - D# - C1 - A#
The interval between C1 and A# is half as short as the intervals between the other notes. ("too.. too.. toodooo")
    Here's a virtual keyboard: http://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/reso...iano/index.htm

    hope this helps....
