ما تشد حيلك يا بو صلاح
إضربها صرمة تعيش مرتاح

here is my attempt but it doesn't make sense :

Don't fetter / tie up your energy / vitality Oh Abou Saleh
Hit it a shoe (and) you'll live in peace

Have you ever heard of the saying "shed 7aylak" it means to like pull yourself together/be strong

Ma - Don't
tshed - Strain
7aylak - yourself
but the pronunciation is like matshed 7aylak in this case the "ma" doesn't translate and it's be "be strong/pull yourself together"

7elak from 7el, ability, so 7elak is your ability
Shid literally means pull, so it is sort of the arabic version of pull up your socks

Daydream - I think its matshid 7elak, i.e why dont you shid 7elak

Yes I agree with you, that's why I had put it under that the "ma" isn't to negate the sentence. I know that gbasfora likes to see a word for word translation so that he can identify each individual word in other songs and increase his Arabic vocabulary that way. Sorry.

That's it my friend. I gues it's very important to identify the meaning of every single word so you can understand the structure of the language and its typical expressions.
So the word Ma doesn't mean NO here. It's used just to emphasize the verse ?

Right, you are! you will find that common where words lose typical meanings when grouped to add emphasis to the phrases

Only in dialect arabic mind George, in standard ma would have a negative connotations, but typically in slang we just say 'mat' for emphasis

I guess صـنايعية could be translated into labourers/workers. Isn't it ?

Thank you Daydream ,I had already listened to that version. you are sure it's make more sense but the version for Dania really says : ما تشد حيلك يا بو صلاح إضربها صرمة تعيش مرتاح and she pronounces it as sarma.

I checked those other lyrics I put up and they have errors too :\

But that line is close, on the link you posted between 2:30 - 2:40 she says: Eedy b eedak ya Abu Sala7, madam ma3 Allah t3eesh merta7

the second set of lyrics are closer, maybe your lyrics are for another version?

Are you listening to the one George linked because it doesn't say that what time in the song do those lyrics appear? am I losing my hearing cuz I don't hear what you two are hearing.. if it's another version then please link me..
