    Default 80s AOR/indie song

I think this song is from the late 80s (maybe early 90s) but I don't know the artist or title, the singer is male and I just know a few snatches of lyrics, they are :-

    Nowhere to go
    I sit alone, unhappy man
    Talk to myself
    That's when I slip away
    Take me down
    Stab in the back
    Cold as ice
    Nobody knows a thing
    Everyone cries

All help gratefully received, I've beentrying to track this one down for years!

I know all the lyrics to this song, because my dad has it on a tape he made in the 80s, but he doesn't know who the artist is!
I'm in the same boat as you..I wish I knew!!

With a sound sample at hand, I'd see a chance...

Here are the lyrics. Hope this helps, although some may be a little off because the guys voice is pretty hard to understand.

    Verse 1:
I sit alone, no where to go
    I sit alone, unhappy man
    Talk to myself
They said its end of the world
    'Cause everyone hates
    'Cause everyone cries

    Chorus:
    Everyone cries
    That's when I slip away
    Take me down
    Take me down
    Everyone cries
    That's when I slip away
    Take me down
    Take me down

    Verse 2:
    Everyone hates
    A stab in the back
Always knives as cold as ice
    Nobody cares
    Nobody knows the pain
    Cause everyone hates
    And are forced in anger

    Chorus

    Intrumental Break

    Chorus

Well, if you upload the song, we might finally figure out who the artist is

I tried to upload a one minute mp3 edit of the song yesterday but it wouldn't let me upload it. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know how else to make the song available! Any clues?

Thanks so much for the upload!
Finally we've got something to work with.

For a starter, the sample was also very useful to define the GENRE. That's more like textbook new wave / power pop, rather than "AOR" (albeit with a slight "indie" flavor).
So your sound file will prevent me from digging around in the wrong crates

This (synth-laden) style resembles Hambi & The Dance, OMD, The World or Figures on a Beach.

The son you are all looking for is Les Enfants "Slipaway" and most likely the extended version. It is on youtube. Please reply so that I know this is correct.

"Les Enfants - Slipaway {1985}" reminds me of this song...
