جمع ووفق والله

Hi,

I' trying to translate the verses bellow but I'm not sure if I've undestood them well so I would like to have a help from you to correct my translation :

دقوا المزاهر يالله يا اهل البيت تعالوا
Let's go ! Play the drums ! Oh households come on !

جمع ووفق والله وصدقوا اللي قالو
I swear they were sincere when they said : Stay together and have a good luck/a good fortune/ achieve your aimes !

I'm not sure but I guess جمع ووفق is an egypcian expression used in weddings. Is that True ?

جمع ووفق is composed of two verbs in the past with the third pronoun (he) ,it refeers to God

جمّع means gather/put together or combine two persons(a man a women) in a good way that they suit eac other

وفّق means something like to make someone find success,it has something to do with luck for example "الله يوفقك" =good luck/May Allah's

so here جمع و وفق means nearly "He gathered and made find success"

i don't know if this is clear to you or not,i hope it is did my best

Thank you larosa. It's clearer now. So my translation was not that wrong. Could I translate it into He was well succeeded in finding her ?

And one more question , if possible, could you correct the verse bellow ?

عين الحسود فيها عود يا حلاوة
Envious eyes have a stick Oh sweetie . It doesn't make sense

yeah you might say so dear,it is correct actually ,it can be interpreted in many ways

عين الحسود فيها عود يا حلاوة this is not wrong as an arabic egyptian sentence ,but it is an idiom it mean that people who are envious should get hit by a stick in their eyes,so they should no longer see to envy others
and as for يا حلاوة it is only to finish their line ,so it means something like ,how sweet it is for envious to have a stick in their eyes looool
