Chetori? :-) I am Australian, and have an Iranian Partner. In turn I have also met a lot of his Iranian friends and have made a few Iranian friends at my sons preschool after guessing correctly their nationality (they were very excited :-D ) I am trying very hard to learn some basic Farsi, just to be able to speak to my Partners parents on the phone. I have a lot of trouble constructing the basic general conversation as I get confused with what order the words come in eg, here we say you are a good cook, over there you say your cooking is good and to say I love you is dooset daram nowhere is man or shomaa :-) thanks for this thread I think it would be very helpful

I'm sure you will learn to speak farsi very soon, and welcome to this thread you can ask any questions if you're in need.
and as for the differences i agree it is also problematic for persian speaker when they are learning english. and about dosset daram the last "m" at the end of daram indicates "i".
