    VOWELS



    Note: As shown in the pic above the vowels have special symbols called Matra which produces the same sound as the vowel and is used with Consonants (below) to produce various sounds. We will be learning it later.

    First



    English


    It produces a sound 'a' as in Cup (Kap)

    Arabic

    It produces a sound 'a' as in 'Al'



    Note: It does not have a corresponding Matra


    second




    English


    It has a sound 'Aa' (a longer aa) as in Bath or Garbage

    Arabic


    It has a sound 'Aa' (a longer aa) as in Khaali or Insaan

    It has a matra the Rod shape which adds the 'aa' sound to the consonant it is attached with

    For eg.

    if this is

    Producing sound as K as in Kite or Kitab

    This will be Kaa after adding matra



    as in Kabul or Kaan (ear)

    It has a sound 'EE' (DEEPER SOUND) as in Keep or Keen

    Arabic


    It has a sound 'EE' (DEEPER SOUND) as in Jameel or Taweel

    It has a matra the 'EE' sound to the consonant it is attached with


    sounds as 'Kee'

    as in Keemat (cost) Neela (blue)
