Hi, I was in Italy for the millenium New Year. There was a song on the radio at the time, it was a modern sparkly Europop style and with a haunting melody, interesting chord changes, kind of melancholy... a medium-tempo beat, a sweeping 'wall of sound' style (the closest overall sound I can come up with is Pizzicato 5..) and the verse or chorus ended with (I think).. "a day.. at the end of the world" (or, last day at the end of the world). The video, which was in all the bars/cafe's at the time, was of a pretty dark-haired female singer (don't know if she was solo or the lead in a group.. I think the latter)... I think she was European and not Asian. She was smiling and there were images kind of swirling around her. Every time I try to look it up the U2 song comes up (although the tempo of the song I'm looking for is very similar to the U2 song), and an endless list of others with the words 'end of the world' in the title. It's almost like I imagined this.. or the song just disappeared off the face of the earth! Been looking for it for the past 10 yrs.. I really just want to find it for nostalgia's sake. I've also tried to find a list of the most popular pop songs in Italy/ Europe at the time and I can't seem to find such a list.. other than the usual top 40 stuff. I don't think this song ever made it to the U.S., unless it was in the club/dance/DJ circuit.. since it was more that kind of vibe. I've tried looking online (by the one line of the song I remember-- not sure if that was the title or not).. on YouTube, etc... Can anyone help...?
