Some Commonly Used Urdu Words in Hindi Songs.

    Tasavvur

Tasavvur is an Urdu word which means Imagination. The word can be found in many Bollywood songs. A fine example would be the song Na tum jaano na hum from Kaho na Pyaar hai where Lucky Ali sings, 'tasavvur mein hain kiski parchhaiyaan', meaning, whose images are there in my imagination.

    Talaffuz
is an Urdu word, which means the pronunciation, articulation, the way of saying a word. In Hindi, you can call it uchcharan (उच्चारण).

Nasheman means a nest. In Hindi, Ghosla.

Parvaaz, or Parwaj, is an Urdu word which means flight, Udaan in Hindi.

Like it always happens with words related to sky and flying, Parvaaz has been a word which is considered to have very positive vibes and hence there have been multiple things called Parvaaz, including one album of Jagjit Singh, one album of Pakistani band Junoon, a project for disabled children in UK, Hindi translation of Ruskin Bond's 'The Flight of Pigeons', and much more.

Ashq (sometimes written Ashk) is a commonly used Urdu word and it means a teardrop. In Hindi Ashq would translate to aansoo.

Falsafa is an Urdu word that is created with some change in the English word Philosophy and means the same.
The meaning of Wallah is 'by Allah', like 'by God.' The word is used to confirm the conviction of being Truthful, as it means swearing by Allah

    Kambakht
is an Urdu word which comes from the root Bakht. Bakht means Good luck or good fortune and hence kam-bakht means someone with less good fortune, literally someone unfortunate, wretched.

Though the word actually means wretched, it's many times used as a slang/swearword without much caring for the meaning and hence a common notion is that kambakht means someone who is bad as s/he does wrong.

Fitrat is an Urdu word which means nature, as in somebody's nature, or temperament.

Firdaus is an Urdu word which means Paradise. Though, at times, the word can be used for a garden as well.

Ulfat is a very Common Urdu word which simply means love, affection.

Ulfat can be heard and read in a lot of poems and Bollywood songs too.

Sargoshi means to whisper. When you are whispering into someone's ear you're doing Sargoshi.

Sargoshiyan or Sargoshiyaan is nothing but the plural for the word and you may call it whisperings or whispers.

Hayaat is an Urdu word which means 'life.'

At times, the word is also spelt as Hyatt.

Fanaa is an Urdu word which means to destroy, to annihilate. In Sufism, the word is used for extinction of the self in the Universal being.

Fanaa is a common word in Hindi/Urdu poetry and even Bollywood songs. In there it generally means getting destroyed.
