Solved: Please ID pop song from ~1990, don't understand any word

Hi, this turned up on another forum some time ago, and no one could solve it.
If no one can say what it is from the top of his/her head, that's fine, too. Once I finally understand the chorus (instead of nonsensical gobbledigook like "come bring your button all in the views" ) I might find it myself.

Well, if the chorus hadn't been produced the thick "128-layer overdub" way, it would have helped a lot too...

So I'm hoping again for you lyrics-magicians here

I lived in Wolverhampton, England from 1986 to 1991 and we used to hang out at a pub near Shifnal. They played great club mixes on cassettes and there was a song I LOVED on one of them. I never found out the name of the song or the artist but after all these years, it still buzzes around in my head. I'm back in Memphis now but I've never heard the song in the U. S. nor has anyone I've described/hummed/sang it to. Some of the lyrics are. . . "Come read about it all in the news" Help me identify this song so I can try to buy it somewhere!
