Question Onur Akın – 33 Kurşun (TR > EN)

    to please!

    Onur Akın – 33 Kurşun:

    kirvem, hallarımı aynı böyle yaz
    rivayet sanılır sanılır belki
    gül memeler değil
    dom dom kurşunu
    paramparça - hey dost - ağzımdaki…

    bu dağ mengene dağıdır
    tanyeri atanda Van’da
    bu dağ nemrut yavrusudur hey
    tanyeri atanda nemrut’a karşı

bir yanın çığ tutar, Kafkas ufkudur
    bir yanın seccade acem mülküdür
    doruklarda buzulların salkımı
    firari güvercinler su başlarında
    ve karaca sürüsü,
    keklik takımı…

    vurulmuşum
    dağların kuytuluk kuytuluk bir boğazında
    vakitlerden bir sabah namazında
    yatarım kanlı, upuzun…

    vurulmuşum
    düşüm, gecelerden kara
    bir hayra yoranım çıkmaz
    canım alırlar ecelsiz
    sığdıramam kitaplara

    [şifre buyurmuş bir paşa
    vurulmuşum hiç sorgusuz, yargısız]

It should be noted that this is a poem from the poet Ahmed Arif and it was written in memory of 33 citizens killed in southeastern Turkey due to the controversy between some local people and the commander of the army at that location most probably due to some issues regarding trades and smuggling. The sorrow of the poem comes from the fates of the local people who were killed due to that controversy by the commander officer and it has some other verses as well; but for easiness, the translation for above part is as follows:

    33 Bullets

my kirve*, write my circumstances as such
it is deemed a tale perhaps
    not breasts from rose
    But frangible bullets
all shattered - hey* friend - are what is inside my mouth…

this mountain is the mengene* mountain
when dawn breaks out, in Van
This mountain is the brood of nemrut* hey
when dawn breaks out, against nemrut

one side holds snowslide, it is a horizon of Caucasus
    one side is sajjade*,Persian asset
    at tops, clusters of glaciers
    fugitive pigeons are near headwater
and the flocks of roe deers,
    the crew of grouses...

    i have been shot
at a snuggle;snuggle neck of the mountains
in a morning prayer from the times
i am laid down; with blood, lengthy

    i have been shot
my dream, black from the nights
no one interpreting favorably for me
they take my life without time of death
i cannot fit it into books

[the pasha has commanded a code
i have been shot without question or judgement]

kirve:man who acts as a sort of godfather to a boy at his circumcision in Islamic culture
    hey:an exclamation alike heigh;hi;hoy
mengene mt.: a mountain in Van
Nemrut:another mt. in southeast of Turkey
    sajjade: prayer rug
