Ayli is like eiwa, it doesn't mean much... Dunno what english translation could be given to these words actually

Btw, this is a cover of a moroccan classic wedding song, not really by him

You know I found it quite hard to dance to, ya3ni the beat makes you want to dance, but neither shaami dance worked on it, nor did english dancing

Ya salam! What is the original wedding song? It doesnt matter, I love the beat! Lella sultana a lella!! Zine w7nana a lella! lella sultana a lella! Hiye ili bghet ana a lella! sub7an mn 3tak ezin, 7afdak rabi min il3ayn!! I'm so putting this on my wedding inshallah

3a fikra (bu arada in turkish!) is your ATL being stupid kaman? I cant reply to my PM's or click on the user profile...

Here's the original version (from the early 70's)... Would you believe me if I told you Oum Kalthoum herself had a crush on that guy? LOL!

    Salim Halali - Sidi Hbibi

And yup mine too, but it'll pass after a while

Hehe naaaah I don't think she actually fell in love with him, she just admirated him... Allah yer7amha lol miskina how we're talking behind her back + howa yehudi

And well, there have been tons of remixes since then, so people make the beats faster generally, or you can also play it when the bride is coming hehe

YES we are, if somebody said I was related in any way to shi yehudi, I'd feel offensed! Muahahah Plus she was married, 7shouma

Wedding songs HAVE to be good because the guests will critisize everything, even the way the bread is cut lol... But it's an Arab thing, right?
    Ps: I'll bring the CD's!

insh'Allah sweetie! LOL, here's my translation by the way:
Sorry there are arabic expressions that just can't be properly translated into english, like "she's in me" lol, it's "hiya li biya" ze3ma... You get the meaning though!

When I see you my heart is happy
    And I feel blessed
Since you are my passion and love
And all I have in the world

She's in me, she's my soul and eyes
Ayli, ayli, my darling, where is she?
She's in me, she's my soul and eyes
Ayli, ayli, my darling, where is she?

    With you my mood changes
And the love grows in my heart
You are my love and hope
And my love for you wasn't random

She's what's in me, she's my soul and eyes
Ayli, ayli, my darling, where is she?
She's what's in me, she's my soul and eyes
Ayli, ayli, my darling, where is she?

Tell me, my heart got used to it
    I became afraid of love

I have a question though, previously in another song, I translated hiya ili biya as she's in me, and ELEEF corrected me telling me hiya ili biya = she's whats up with me/whats wrong with me

I knowww, but I thought you would translate it between yesterday and today? Why did it take so much time? So I just translated it ablak cause it looked too easy lol! Hope you don't mind!

Yes, I wanted to put "she's what's in me" initially, but it sounded too weird... You say "hedshi li biya" to talk about a sickness, like the reason of your trouble, and here he uses it in a "poetic way" to say she's the reason why he's troubled...

I did translate it But my internet keep disconnecting so I didnt post it Bas salem idayki ya amar!

I'll tell you what I got wrong though,

    w twalli la3mar fiya
Initially I heard it as, witwal3i l'amour fiya, so I thought it was across the lines of you spark the love in me and I was really proud of myself for spotting that french word haha but then after I read the lyrics I decided it meant and you make my years longer

ayli ayli hbibi dyali fin hiya
    What does dyali mean?

    3adroni galbi wellaf
Excuse me my heart is crazy (in her love)
