    Default Mirkelam - Tavla

    Bana zarlar hileli
    Kaderin bitmek bilmeyen
    Oyunu mu bu

    Şeşiçar ve pencüse
    Severim güzeli gencüse
    Kader uslanmaz
    Kandım işte

    Tavla tavla beni tavla
    Salla pulları zarları
    Salla salla beni salla
    Vallahi geldim oyuna

Gözlerinle mahvettin - You destroyed me with your eyes.
Kapılarınla hapsettin - You locked me with your doors.
Seninim al tamam - Take me, I'm yours okay.

    Şeytanın ahı tutmuş -
Şarkılar aşka gelmiş - My songs turned into love
Durumum el yaman - My situation is egregious

Bu oyun hep çileli - This game is always painful.
Bana zarlar hileli - The dices are cheating to me.
Kaderin bitmek bilmeyen - Your faith doesn't end.
Oyunu mu bu - Is this a game

Şeşiçar ve pencüse - No idea(?)
Severim güzeli gencüse - I love the 'gencuse'
Kader uslanmaz - My faith can't settle down.
Kandım işte - You just got me.

Tavla tavla beni tavla - Tavla* me.
Salla pulları zarları - Shake the dices.
Salla salla beni salla - Shake shake me.
Vallahi geldim oyuna - I swear I've been played.

    * Tavla = When you wan't to get a girl/boy, let him/her like you.

    Sincerly.
Though my english isn't pretty well, hope you can appreciate this.

Thanks for correcting. I just noticed that this song goes about the game 'backgammon'.

    Default Tavla - Final

Now I hope no one gets it wrong, that song together with its lyrics is a real hard one, so it needed some work time on it to make it into a one last version!

OK, this song is really tricky to translate since it's all about metaphors on the Backgammon game ("Tavla" in Turkish), very popular in Turkey, as well as the verb "to hit on", "to charm" or "to seduce" someone that is "Tavlamak"...

Note: Metaphore explanations are put in italic script.

Gözlerinle mahvettin -With your eyes you ruined me,
Kapılarınla hapsettin - With your doors you locked me, A "kapı" (i.e:"door") in backgammon is a "tree" that allows the player either to hold a position or to block an opponent from exiting, effectively locking him/her in.
Seninim al tamam - Take me, I'm yours, fine!

Şeytanın ahı tutmuş - The Devil's swear/curse is on, Denotes the lack of luck
Şarkılar aşka gelmiş - The songs came to love, The music went nuts
Durumum el yaman - My state is wicked...

Bu oyun hep çileli - This game is always painful,
Bana zarlar hileli - The dices are cheating me,
Kaderin bitmek bilmeyen oyunu mu bu? - Is this the neverending game of fate?

Şeş-i çehâr ve penc-ü se - 6-4 & 5-3 (Two dice throws, numbers always given in Persian)
Severim güzeli gencüse - I like the cuties if/when they're young, The last two verses are, when put together, part of a small Ottoman rhyme, nowadays often used in Backgammon play, that denote the selfish nature of the human being in general
Kader uslanmaz - My fate will not settle down, I will not change
Kandım işte - You did it, you deceived me! You got me!

Tavla, tavla beni tavla! - Seduce me! Hit on me! Charm me!
Salla pulları zarları - Throw the dices, move your checkers,
Salla salla beni salla - Shake me, stir me, The same verb applies in Turkish for throwing a dice or stirring / shaking something or someone, hence the wordplay
Vallahi geldim oyuna! - I swear I've been deceived! I've fallen for it!!

This song is very special for me as it's the second (and my favorite ever) hit of (Fergan) Mirkelam, who by the way is an in-law of mine, married to my cousin!

Also, this song has a VERY creative theatrical video, now a classic, that I definitely oblige all of you to watch!!
