    this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-European_languages

greek and latin is not found in persian because these langages were not imprtant for many centuries . and about medicine , Iran for ancient era and middle age was the center of medicine. there was a university of medicine (Academy of Gundishapur) According to The Cambridge History of Iran, it was the most important medical center of the ancient world (defined as Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Near East) during the 6th and 7th centuries

and in middle age there were many Scientists of medicien in iran.
examples of western languages influenced by Persian language, you can read this links that I give befor :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Persian_origin
and for french words in persian you can see this page:

    hi Mehrdad!
You have to be thanked for all these usefull links you provided. It is indeed true that medicine in Middle Ages and before was very poor in the west
    compared to the Oriental World.
I remember telling in medieval banquets where I perform from time to time that doctors from the arabian world laughed at the poor ways western doctors
tried to cure/help their patients by e.g. drilling holes in their skulls to "get to the heart of certain medical problems".
As regards influences in between languages I will certainly be most interested to learn more about what can be found in Farsi of words coming from elsewhere.
Our western world is very much influenced by Latin and Greek vocabulary, esp.medicine, law, politics and government.
But thanks for this, indeed. You did a great job there!

    Salam, Pinky!

"ham" means "ham" in both Dutch and English. What a difference a language can make! Bon appetit ham.......

If you mean "delam gerefte" instead of "delam gerefti", it means "I feel blue"
