Γιάννης Καλατζής - Μικροί ήρωες

Hello,

I would be very grateful if somebody could help me with the translation of this song performed by Giannis Kalatzis and a part of the 1971 Ζει album - a collaboration between composer Mimis Plessas, lyricist Kostas Virvos and two of the most famous Greek singers in Greek music at the time - Kalatzis and Dalaras.
Translation of the song is actually difficult because as far as I know the whole album is directly related to Greek folklore and the character Karagiozis so probably the songs are quite specific. However, even if you can't translate the song, giving me some basic information what the song is about would be highly appreciated!Thanks!

(Acting as) All day's strong fighters but every time they seem to survive against the difficulties having a brave man's soul. As many bitter drinks life offers to them "Kollitiria" seem not to be frightened of. (2) During daytime, they live in cold northern wind, but during the night they go to school they're pupils of some night school. "Customized" to live a life in poverty, they become men with concise characters, acquiring some bright and clear way of thinking.

(1) Κουλούρι (Κoulouri) is some kind of snack similar to donut, usually sold by street sellers called κουλουράδες (koulourades)
