I would be really grateful if somebody could help me with the translation of this old Greek song with lyrics by the famous Greek poet Kostas Varnalis and composed by Stavros Kouyioumtzis, it's a beautiful song but sounds like a sad one as well. Thank you!
As the time came for me to die,
come close to me unkle Thanos,
give me first a glass,
overflowing and it will be the last,
and open the window,
to shine the evening light (in the room) (x2)
Even when I was sick or hungry,
I "kneeled" in front of a rich master,
but now on that I'm dead,
your will is respected,
open the gate I can't wait
of Paradise where I belong (του Παραδείσου που μου κάνει).
