    Well, my wild guess would be "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations (1968) with covers by The Goops, The Partyboys, McFly and Busted. But the vocals for these groups are male.

    i'm not sure which song this is but if these are some of the lyrics it may help someone figure out what song it is
    because the song i'm thinking of is by a female artist
