Default Can someone please translate these song names

    Hello everyone,

These are the song titles for the 5 disc set: All Original Cuban Studio Sessions. I just need the song titles translated into english - not the lyrics.
The song is listed first & the singer or band is listed second....

I know there are a lot, so sorry about that - I just don't know cuban spanish well enough to get them done.

    I appreciate the help!!
    Thanks,
    GMP

    I'll try a few that Luis5606 didn't do:

    3. El Beso Y La Cana (The Kiss and the gray/white hair)
    7. Amparo (Literally "Protection", but also could be a woman's name)
    17. Cienfuegos (Literally "100 fires", but in this case may be a woman's name)
    20. El Florero (The vase)
    34. Guantanamera (girl from Guantánamo)
    46. La Trova (The poem/ballad)
    48. Dejame Gozar (let me enjoy/savor)
    58. Ahora Me Da Pena (Now it hurts me)

Also, "Son" is a type of cuban dance song, so "Mi Son Cubano" and "Mi Gratto Son" may be referring to that.

Quick edit: "Malanga amarilla" means "yellow malanga". Malanga is a brown tuber (kinda like a yam) found in Caribbean food stores, which was confusing to me as it isn't, well, yellow. But I remembered that the term malanga can refer to the plant as well. Maybe some part of the plant (flower?) may be yellow?

Actually this is a term you can hear alot during Cuban concerts (at least from the very few I've seen on TV). I'm pretty sure it refers to a popular man named Cienfuegos who took an important part in the revolution but mysteriously died/dissapeared shortly after victory.

Hmm, could be. I remembered a Cuban song with Cienfuegos in the title that I thought was about a woman who liked to dance, but it was a long time ago so I could well be misremembering.

Just to shed some light on the matter

Camilo Cienfuegos was a key man that associated with Fidel Castro (along with other men, like my fellow countryman Ernesto "Che" Guevara) during the Revolution. He misteriously "disappeared" in 1959, although there is a version that discloses he died on a plane crush that same year, though his remains (nor the plane's) were never found. There's a province (state) in Cuba called "Cienfuegos", but I'm not sure it was named that way after him.

Now, to business! Let me go ahead and translate the missing song titles...

    1. Chan Chan - Chan Chan
    2. Yo Sigo Siendo Cubano - I'm still Cuban
    3. El Beso Y La Cana - The kiss and the caña [I'm assuming it is "caña", which is a very strong drink, like Ron]
    4. Mueve - Move it
    5. Me Duele El Corazon - My heart aches
    6. Lamento Cubano - Cuban Lament [Also "Cuban Sorrow", but lament is tipically a specific type of song in Latin America which is very mellow]
    7. Amparo - Amparo/Shelter [Never heard the song, I'll guess: it could be "Amparo", a fairly common female name in Cuba, or "Shelter"]
    8. Compay Gallo - Watch out, fellow Gallo/fellow man [There's a typical cuban song called "Cuidaito Compay Gallo" that was sung by El Cuarteto Patria Eliades Ochoa, don't remember who the writer was, I'm assuming it's the same song]
    9. Que Me Haces - What you do to me
    10. Guajeo De Sexo - Sex Guajeo [The "guajeo" is a musical bridge used in salsa music, generally used to go from one instrumental part to another]
    11. Vicenta - Vicenta [Woman's name]
    12. Echale Salsita - Pour some little sauce (or salsa) on it [Could refer to sauce as to put some spice on it, or to "put" some salsa music on it]
    13. Hasta Siempre - Until Forever
    14. Oye Mi Tres Montuna - Hear my Three Montuna [I'm really not sure about this one, the "three" probable refers to a music beat or tempo, and "montuna" I think it means countryman or peasant or something similar, but not entirely sure]
    15. Imperdonable - Unforgivable
    16. Tacuma - Tacuma [Caught me off guard on this one, I don't know if it has a special meaning]
    17. Cienfuegos - Cienfuegos
    18. Amor Te Dare Si Tu Quieres - Love, I'll give it to you if you want to
    19. Macusa - Macusa [I think Macusa was Compay Segundo's girlfriend]
    20. El Florero - The Vase
    21. Se Me Fue La Montuna - My montuna left [Again, not sure, but it may refer to a peasant girl]
    22. Pena - Sorrow
    23. Invitacion - Invitation
    24. Vivir Vivir - To Live, To Live
    25. Anita - Anita
    26. Venga Fuesta - Come Party [Don't know any word as "fuesta", maybe it's "fiesta"]
    27. Saludo A Chango - Cheers to Chango [Chango is a man]
    28. Romance Fatal - Fatal Romance
    29. Noche De Conga - Conga Night [Latin rythm]
    30. Sobre Tu Imagen - Over your Image
    31. Nostalgia Guajira - Guajira Nostalgia [Guajira is a term to define a woman, usually a young, nice girl]
    32. Tu Mi Afinidad - You, My Affinity
    33. Mi Gratto Son - My Pleasant Son [In this case "son" is a typical cuban rythm, and "grato" (if that was the word) is spelled with onle one T in spanish]
    34. Guantanamera - Guantanamo Girl
    35. Pamparana - Pamparana [Unknown]
    36. San Pera Una Chinita - Son for a Little Girl [Probable title "Son Para Una Chinita". "Chinita" is literally "lilttle chinese girl" but some countries use this word to refer tenderly to a woman, usually one a man is flirting with]
    37. Mi Son Cubano - My Cuban Son [Again, not "my child", but the rythm]
    38. Quiquirinao - Quiquirinao [No meaning I know of, cuban popular song]
    39. Sarandonga - Sarandonga [Same as above]
    40. Canto A Camilo - Song (tribute) to Camilo [Probably Camilo Cienfuegos]
    41. Quimbombo Que Resbala - Slippery Quimbombo
    42. Me Linda Guagira - My pretty Guajira [Original title: Mi Linda Guajira"]
    43. Malanga Amarilla - Yellow Malanga [Following up on an ealy post, the malanga is a little yelowish on the inside, at least the one's I've seen, maybe thats it+
    44. Palomo - Palomo [Could be a man's name or a male pigeon]
    45. Desde Longina - From Longina [Not sure if it's a location or something similar, I don't know it]
    46. La Trova - The Verse [A "trova" is something that a "trovador" (a troubadour) sings]
