Or would you simply let it lie, - O lo dejarías estar (A mí me suena mejor así, pero tu frase también valía)

leaving me to wonder why - para que me pregunte (el gerundio de posterioridad no es correcto, por eso he cambiado tu «dejándome cuestionar»)
