Arabic Books Translated Into English

Hi Everyone!!! I know, i am not supposed to write about books here in this lyrics forum...but i dont know where else i can get some info about arabic books... I really wanna read some really good books that take place in Arabia... but not like history books or anything... but like Khaled Hosseini books - The Kite Runner and stuff... and the ones that are already translated into english!!! lol....please help me... i was looking for that online, but couldnt find anything!!! please???? can someone help me???

Go look through Arabic Literature (in English) because it's probably the single best resource for what you're looking for. It did a breakdown of the Egyptian Writers Union's Top 100 Arabic Novels list, so that's a good place to start.

Also, as for suggestions, Season of Migration to the North, In The Country of Men, and The Yacoubian Building are good books to start with. Denys Johnson-Davies and Humphrey Davies are probably the two most respected translators. http://www.al-bab.com/ is a good place to look at, too.
