I just discovered this song for the first time when I learned a choreography a few weeks ago that Mahmoud Reda created for this song. I think it's a really appealing song, especially since I've been to Egypt 9 times and I really like it there.

Larosa, as I compare your translation to listening to Dalida's version of the song, I think there are a few gaps, with missing sections.

First Gap

The first is in the section about Sohag, right after this line: "Sohag de 'arouss el Nil"

I found a video of the song that had subtitles with a translation, and the subtitles for the missing part said:

Sohag, always working
Sohag, prices are cheap
Serious and strong men

Immediately after this, she sings, "Ya baladiya, ya baladiya" (O countrymen, O countrymen)

Does the above translation from the subtitles make sense? And, any idea what the transliterated lyrics in Arabic would be?

Second Gap

Also, later in the song the lyrics seem to be singing the following - is my transliteration correct, and do you have any idea how to translate it?

'al mahala mneen ya samanody
'al mahala mneen ard el-dody
'al mahala mneen [I'm not sure what the final words here are]
'al mahala mneen ya samanody [I think this is what it says, but I could be wrong]

Third Gap

In the section on Alexandria, right after the line, "Men Sedi Beshr le Abou el-Abbas" there seems to be a gap. The first line of the gap says:

Ayooh ya 'alam 'al manzar

And then there are a few more lines before it returns to "Iskanderia ahsan nas". Can anyone transliterate the missing lines, and then translate them to English?
