Does the construction have this meaning of "How I wish(literally it's how I would want) you loved me"? Is it present subjonctive(I'm talking about the meaning here, not the grammar terminology).

Present subjunctive: I wish I were there- I wish now that I would be there now.

Past subjunctive: I wish I had been there (I wish now, That I was there in the past- actually it's more like a regret, a missed opportunity. I WASN'T there, now I wish I had been and I regret)

In our song the english grammatical equivalent is the present subjunctive: I wish now, that you love me now. It's a wish, not a regret. That was my major problem this morning(I wasn't sure if he wishes her love or if he cries about the past)

Yes now it's clear in english. You seem to find better english equivalents than I do. Cause everything you wrote is exactly what I had in mind, but I wasn't able to find the correct english for it.

Actually, in romanian would sound much better!!! That was another problem: I understood it exactly in romanian, but couldn't express it in english. We use this construction a lot, too, and without repeating the "I wish" or using words to stand for "so as" or "if only". I told you, romanian is a lot like greek when it comes to building phrases.
