You made my day
ur reputation .. its a feature of the forum, see people can express their gratitude by adding on reputation, which is the number you have in the box where ur avatar is... and to add to it they need to click the middle icon in the bottom of that same box with the avatar.... see ur number is 10 and mine is 16 for example..thats the reputation count.. you can see which posts people added on ur reputation on if you go onto ur user control panel
well i did my part hope everyone joins in in boosting chris's rep, and angelus cuz u suggested it am gonna boost ur rep as well.

Hey can someone tell me how to say, "Happy Birthday" and also "I miss you" in Arabic pls??
I am not sure sure there is an exact equivalent phrase. On an annual thing such as a birthday but also Ramadan you might say "Kull 3am w anta (anti for female) bikheir" or "Kull sina wa anta (anti for female) tayyeb (tayyeba for female). These phrases mean like 'every year and you are well' or something kind of as an annual wellwishing. the happy birthday song in arabic goes (to the same tune as the english happy birthday)
Sina helwa ya gameel
Sina helwa ya gameel
Sina helwa ya (you can put the name in here)
Sina helwa ya gameel
That just means like "sweet/beautiful year my beautiful" meaning about the same thing as "happy birthday to you" To say a birthday in arabic is "3ayd milaad" but i dont think the phrase happy birthday literally translated is used. hope that helps.
In Arabic I miss you is the reverse of in English like in french (tu me monques). meaning the person you miss is the subject in you are the object. In arabic the most simple way of doing this is "Waheshteni," that is if you say it to a guy or "Waheshtiini" if you are saying it to a girl. so to your girl friend you might say "Waheshtiini kiteer ya habiiti" (i miss you so much my darling)
That is the simple answer.
Thank you ivybag and miha for the reply.
Hey ivy, great explanation![]()

if i want to say "goodluck tomorrow" and/or "goodluck today" in arabic how would i say that?
thnx u guys
the simple answer is that there isn't the same linguistic concept of luck in arabic as in English i don't think. you're more likely to say "inshallah (if god wills it, hopefully)" things will go well or something to that effect. In standard arabic you can say "HaZZ sa3eed" for good luck i have read but i do no think that this sounds very natural it is more of an arabic way of translating to accomodate and english saying i think. maybe someone else will have a better or more creative suggestion though
Ok Thnx, It's True Some Words Cant Always Be Translated.
