    Red face I am..

a Palestinian refugee. Born in the states, but would have been born in my homeland, had thing not taken a terrible turn...I just want peace. A chance to see my people rightfully return to what was promised to them by UN resolution number 194....
In any case, I value all people. EVERYONE, and at least we can share a mutual interest in music...

I hate mixing politics with music but it seems that it keeps comming up.
I just want to point out a few thing ,
UN resolution number 194 : beofre this we had Un Resolution 181 this resolution talk about establishing 2 countries in Palestina an Arab state and a jewish State , We accepted the resolution , the arabs rejected it and later attacked Israel , this is how the refugee problem started.

ppl blame Only Israel at this while the arabs are to balme as well.
59 years have passed since 1948 , today you have the Palestinian National Authority, they act like a state and they have full autonomy , what's keeping you from returning to the Palestinian National Authority ?!?

I love Arabic songs like CRAZY!!!!

The only Israeli artist I knew is Ishtar from Alabina.... and she's superb..... I love her voice....

Are there any other Israelis that sing Arabic songs...

Or any popular Hebrew songs that sounds like Arabic?

Im going to take your advice and refrain from mixing music with these politics. At the end of the day, colonialism is wrong, and whatever is the present day end result of occupation, apartheid, displacement, ethnic cleansing and colonialism, cannot be judged soley on those actions, but WHAT has brought these actions to fruition. It's logic. A simple case of CAUSE and EFFECT.

There's a great book that explains much of the frustration of the Palestinian people, written by IIan Pappe, an Israeli Historian who used to teach at Haifa university. It is called The Ethnic Cleasning of Palestine. I prefer to read literature concerning the situation written by Israelis bc then I cannot be accused of reading only biased material to make my conclusions.

In the end, Moshe, I want what you want. Peace. To live with people like you, who, ironically, look like people like me. But let's keep it real here. Israel's idea of peace is not an internationally, humanely accepted ideology of TRUE ever lasting peace. You cant build walls that separates a people (this is against international law), and say it's in the name of peace. No one's buying it.
True peace begins with recongizing and adhearing to International law i.e. no more building illegal settlements...as just one example.

When the playing field is level, and the Palestinians are recognized at people...where the occupation stops affecting every part of their daily lives, from work, to school, to health care, to even forming a soccer team (these people must train in Qatar bc israel will not allow them to train there) then and only then will the seeds of true peace be planted. Because there cannot be peace between slave and master.

Now, back to loving some music <3
    Salam, Shalom, Peace

    Hi shathahilwa
Ilan Pepe is hardly the objective Historian to qoute from :-) he belongs to a group of left wingers Historians that has an agenta that object Israel as a jewish state.
Israel as a jewish state is one of our basic foundations.
and this what the conflict is all about , we jews say we have the right for a jewish state in our Historical homeLand, you Palestinians say you have the right for a country in your inhabited country for centuries.
both arguments are debatable and both has some truth in it , thats why this conflict keeps living.
however Israel has 20% of non jews civilians in It (mostly Arabs) and Arabic is a formal language of Israel along with Hebrew) , if we agree to the return of all the Palestinian refugee and their descendent we won't have a jewish state anymore (the only jewish state BTW) this is why this will never pass with Israel.
but Israel can agree to the return of reugee to the Palestinian authority IF a true peace agreement will be signed.
as I see it today Israel has population of arabs while other arab countries almost don't have jews inside of them at all (most jews where deported in 48 coz of the establishment of Israel, this jews are refgugee too but never was recognised as so) so what happened here is that population exchange occurred during the war , from both sides (some where deported , some left , some flee etc') while the jews refugee absorved in Israel , the arab refugee didn't absorved in the arab country .
it is not the occupation that effecting the Palestinian (as I said Palestinian authority has full autonomy) it is the terorist activities that effect them.
    hope for a better future
