As the majority of cretan songs a man talks about his love for a woman.
At the 30 sec sample i heard he says that he hears people say to him wishes for living a long life but they don't know that he's too miserable (cause of his love for the girl propably ) and that a man so miserable like him don't wanna live anymore.

Try to understand that cretan music is mainly full with happy feelings and this song is a happy one. In their music people of crete often try to sing a love song to the girl they want so she can approve or disapprove a relationship with 'em....

And based on your "location" i can say that you know that there's nowhere like crete (even here in athens...).
"Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to?
You will never find that life for which you are looking.
When the gods created man they allotted to him death,
but life they retained in their own keeping"
