    Ti kaneis =How are you?
Την αστείρευτή σου γλύκα στην αγάπη σου τη βρήκα
κι αν ποτέ σε χάσω μωρό μου, μαζί σου κι εγώ θα χαθώ

It literally means "what are you doing", but in the everyday speech it's used to mean "how are you".

Dimitris' father had this phone conversation with his niece once:

    - Geia sou, Ksenia. Ti kaneis?
    - Kala eimai.
    - Nai, alla ti kaneis?
    - E, kala eimai.
    - Nai, paidi mou, alla ti kaneis?
    - A... Milaw.

    Hehe...

But is there no other way of asking "What are you doing?" in Greek??

I only know "Ti kaneis?"... but in fact it is always understood as "How are you?"...

No, but there are many other ways to say "how are you". For example, ''pos eisai?" , "pos ta pas?", "pos (ta) pernas?" etc.

P.S. You could say "me ti axoleisai?" but this one means "what's your job?" too

    Thanks Maria

I've never heard "Me ti axoleisai?" before... but I'll remember it...

Greek can be so confusing sometimes - but that's one of the reasons why I love this language
