It all comes down to the country. Gilipollas is a bad word in Spain and it doesn't exist in my culture so it can't be bad. Pendejo to a Mexican is a really bad word, but in my country its just a funny word that means coward. The bad connotation is given by the particular culture. I had a lot of trouble when I lived in Mexico with the word coger. It turns out I was fcking all kinds of objects, including the bus lol

what's coger mean to you? i needed to know that cuz there's a song called No Cojo Esa by a Dominican and a mexican told me it means "i don't **** that" (which i already knew) but it doesn't make any sense. also, it depends with mexicans and pendejo because this one friend of mine was saying it's nothin bad, but another mexican i know said even estupido is offensive

coger really means grab or take in the dictionary. In some countries they use it to mean fck but that's not the real definition of the word. Look how many things pendejo can mean:

1. m. Pelo que nace en el pubis y en las ingles.

2. m. coloq. Hombre cobarde y pusilánime.

3. m. coloq. Hombre tonto, estúpido.

4. m. coloq. pendón (‖ persona de vida irregular y desordenada).

5. m. And. muérdago.

so it's true that it can mean a single pubic hair. i had read that, but wasn't sure. it's funny how in it means complete opposite things in different countries.
