If someone could help me translate the following song, it would be very much appreciated! I could understand some parts of it, but the meaning is completely lost on me...

Also, If you happen to know who it is by, I am very keen to know. I found the lyrics under the name ''Ginette'', but I don't know who that is...

...(That is not what is meant. Métro being capitalised is significant, but I don't know how I have to understand this)

...I watch the birches grow
...(just like the previous verse - and the following one - this is meant as wordplay on and a negation of the métro-boulot-dodo in the previous stanza)
Et c’est sur un accord de do que je vous dit à bientôt.
...And it is with a chord in C that I say goodbye to you all.

I guess the last part is meant to be a wordplay, which you can hardly translate into english with the same meaning...

But for "mon &#233;picier s'trouve au M&#233;tro" I think they mean the supermarket "M&#233;tro" and not the subway XD (It has capital letter and would make more sense to see a grocer in it)
