Hace algún tiempo la Familia de Steven y la familia de Gustavo Alvarado sufrieron un accidente automovilístico cuando regresaban del encuentro internacional del mariachi, es decir de Guadalajara a México, fue ya hace como 4 o 5 años no recuerdo muy bien, en ese accidente las hijas de Gustavo sufrieron graves lesiones, una de ellas estuvo muy muy mal durante bastante tiempo, sin embargo sobrevivió al accidente y ahora está muy bien, pero Steven tenía 3 hijos, uno de ellos falleció, no es Brian (el de la foto), él es ahora su hijo mayor si mal no recuerdo, Steven no habla jamás de esto con nadie, y de hecho a la misa de aniversario luctuoso de su hijo solamente van sus compañeros del mariachi y su familia, la hacen en ocasiones a las 6 de la mañana para evitar que alguien más se entere y vaya, no le gusta por supuesto hablar de éste tema.

A whle ago Steven's family & Gustavo Alvarado's family suffered a car accident when they were coming back from an international mariachi meeting/convention, in Guadalajara, Mexico, it was already about 4 or 5 years ago, I don't remember too well, in that accident Gustavo's daughters suffered grave injuries, one fo them was in very very bad conditions for a substantial amount of time, however she survived the accident & is now very well, but Steven had three kids, one of them died, it's not Brian (the one in the picture), he isn't anyone, & in fact only friends from the mariachi group & of the family go to the mournful anniversary mass of his kid, they do it occasionally at 6 in the morning so as to avoid someone else finding out about it (the mass) & showing up to it, he doesn't like to, of course, talk about this subject.

The backroom is la trastienda & can be used for anything. Está en la trastienda del negocio/de la tienda = It's in the back of the store.

But don't get confused, it's just a coincidence that "tienda" is int he word lol.

But you can also use Está atrás, like "it's in the back."

I guess it depends on the situation.

These guys are members of my favorite Mariachi (Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan). The accident happened several years ago, but this year Steven Sandoval, the father of the boy who died, wrote a memorial song to him called "My Angel Guardian".

I don't have my copy yet and didn't know the details of the story, but have heard it is a wonderful song (some have compared it to Amor Eterno). I am hoping to have it for Christmas and will share it when I do. On some Mariachi forums people are asking thier local DJs to play the song to get it wider distribution - this is very unusual because it isn't commercially available - they only sell their CDs in back of the room sales at their concerts. So it must be a barn-burner!!
