"Life is short, life is short... and one should do new things in life."
i have a question does valentine's day also exist in serbia?
I can answer this as my miserable boyfriend mad such a big deal yesterday
'we dont celebrate it in belgrade.. why do i have to buy chocolates? What do i buy??? WHY ARE YOU ANGRY!?' hehe Poor guy!!
NO in Serbia and Croatia it is not traditionally celebrated although in some nightclubs you do see special valentine themed partys.
I hate copycats = Serbian
...life after death...
It's becoming more and more popular but yeah.. we don't necessarily make a big deal out of it .. Although, I was listening to local radio on the day and the guy kept repeating "if you haven't bought anything for your Valentine yet"... lol
And .. even back in school (that was long ago lol) we had a box where everyone was supposed to put a note for their valentine...
Anyhow... you can let him live.. but, since he got out of it, remind him about March 8th!
PS
the annoying radio guy is announcing "After Valentine's party".![]()
im having trouble with how to say "true love" is it prava ljubav or is there an actual word for it. my dictionaries tell me draga and krstac but i know draga is more like darling and im not sure about krstac.
i wanna say "this is the definition of true love"
or "this is what meant to be looks like"
but i also dont know how to say "meant to be," would it be "namijenjene biti"?
Dooh I don't have a clue what is krstac lol
true love is definitelly prava ljubav
"this is the definition of true love" = ovo je definicija prave ljubavi
or "this is what meant to be looks like" = ovako izgleda prava ljubav (literal translation sounds a bit silly... =ovako izgleda kad je neko stvoren jedan za drugog. So.. meant to be is "stvoren jedan za drugog" if by meant to be you mean made for eachother.. Meant to be literally means = sudjeno je)
Best would be to say: "ovo je prava ljubav" (this is true love) or "ovako izgleda prava ljubav" (this is what true love is like) or "ovo je ocigledno prava stvar" (this is obviously the real thing)
Ok.. I got carried away lol
"this is what meant to be looks like" sound odd.
It's like it was meant to be, maybe.
meant to be...- stvoreno za...suđeno za
it is meant to be - to je suđeno.
I found many times this:
meant-to-be love= suđena ljubav or
love mean-to-be = ljubav stvorena za nas, ljubav namenjena za nas / namenjena jedno za drugo
namenjen/ namijenjen - assigned to, designed for, bound for....
thats exactly the way i put it :] and please do get carried away! its very helpful.
thanks too ina, that also helps clarify things.
i know "this is what meant to be looks like" sounds sorta weird, but i like how it sounds in english, i just wasn't sure about how it would sound in croatian.
oh well how about "we are meant to be"
would it just be: jesmo stvoren jedan za drugog
or does the endings and structure change.
"we are meant to be"
=mi smo stvoreni jedno za drugo
or:
=stvoreni smo jedno za drugo
or:
= sudjeno nam je da budemo zajedno (we are meant to be together)
= sudjeni smo jedno drugom (we are meant for each other)
hvala puno spring!![]()
I need translate this, please
"ko u usporenom filmu se spotakni preko mojh nogu ruku mi dotakni..."
Hvala puno!!!
"samo šalim" would be a correct translation for "i'm just joking"?
MarkoV: I'm just joking - samo se šalim (to joke - šaliti se)
ANJEO: It would be something like:
"ko u usporenom filmu se spotakni preko mojh nogu, ruku mi dotakni..."
Like in a slow motion film, stumble over my legs, touch me lightly on the arm... (touch my arm)
I found this:
dodirnuti = to touch
dotaći = to touch lightly, make contact
dodirnuti rukom, pomilovati = to pat
hey can someone translate a sentence for me in serbian?
so here's the sentence...
Maybe it was destiny to meet you...
Thanks guys
Maybe it was destiny to meet you... = Možda (mi je) bilo suđeno da te sretnem...
