For a very long time I want to learn arabic but it looks so complicated and all those dialects :s... so im really affraid to lost in it...what would be Your advices - if I want to learn arabic as itself (there is no special wish for any of the dialects) should I learn Modern standart arabic? And if the person speaks MSA is it possible to comunicate with ppl in different arabic countries? Or it works more like a basic?
You're so welcome Circhoo.
Well, in fact I always advise and prefer learning Standard Arabic or Fus7a as I prefer to call it. Fus7a is the one in which children are taught in schools, magazines, newspapers as well as books are written with. Also in TV, news, some programmes and English movies all with Fus7a.
Last and not least the person (Arabic one) who is well educated and considered to be literated speaks on TV with Fus7a. Still, when going to any centre to learn Arabic, you'll be taught Fus7a and not any of the dialects.
