Biology is one of my weakest points I just can't remember it. I have no chances to become a doctor though I wanted to be a psychiatrist at a moment

"Gubia Kontrol", stupid or not, this song is my "first time"... in a certain way.

I'm very interested in learning languages, but so far, I had never ever tried to learn a Slavic language. Everybody said, I should learn Russian, but I decided to pick the right language with a little "audition"

There is an internetsite, where you can listen to the translation of a small part of Saint Exupérys "Little Prince" in more than 60 languages .

I asked a friend of mine to play the Slavic ones to me, without telling, which I was actually listening to.

For non-slavic ears, I was surprised to realise, that the Slavic languages were not just "one soup" (don't want to insult anybody ;-), but I really thought so beforehand)

When I started that little "slavic rehearsel" I thought, I would have to select the finalists, but after one round, I aiready had made my decision.

    BULGARIAN

The next thing I did, was to search for Bulgarian songs on Dailymotion and the first one was ... Gubia Kontrol sung at the Slavi Show. It was a clip, which does not exist anymore: it contained not only the song but also a ten minute interview with Miro, so I got the opportunity to get a more detailed impression about how Bulgarian sounds.

My second Bulgarian impression was Azis ... so I had a very "colourful" start with Bulgarian.

Here I am now, trying to teach myself Bulgarian, using a few spare minutes each day.

I guess I like my language of English.

I like it because well for one, Its a blend of a lot of other langauges.

And, its the hardest language to learn (if your not a native speaker), So for some reason, i dont know I like knowing the fact that I know one of the hardest languages in the world.

And I also love my nation of the USA. I love it. Now some of the people, no, and the sterotypes that people give Americans, not so much.

But I think Bulgarian is SUCH a BEAUTIFUL language. I wish I was a Bulgarian. I think I was in a past life, then a Russian before that.

For those of you who speak it fluently, cherish what you have!!

And Bulgarian (to me) just, sounds beautiful. The words, and the writing, is beautiful, I love it sooo much! And that not a lot of people know it (here in the US) makes me want to learn it more!!

    In my opinion, English is the easiest of all the languages I've seen (heard) :P I admit, I am at ease with languages (I think French is easy, the grammar is pretty close to our grammar ) but I'm pretty sure most people think English is the easiest foreign language to learn :] And I like it, I think it sounds beautiful and all the different accents make it even cuter ^.^ However, for me, Bulgarian is the most beautiful I've ever heard, then it's Finnish + French. And it may be strange, but I don't like the other Slavic languages, except maybe Slovakian (a bit) :}}

I have been told that English is really hard.

I think its crazy all the different sounds we make with the accents on our vowels.

I mean, wasnt it hard learing that we dont pronouce things as they are spelled? And that a vowel in one word, is pronouced differently in another?

That for me would be hard.

:] Nope, it was easy for me. Getting used to pronouncing French, in comparison, was more difficult ... However, getting rid of my Balkan accent was (and still is) such a pain It takes lots of patience and practise :P

I'm a Turk who grew up in Gemany (now I live in İstanbul) , and I was glad, that I could learn such a difficult language like German as if it was my native language.

Now, I see what it means to learn a language with three genders, with many irregularities, with a complex verb conjugation system.

I can understand the sighs and confused faces of those foreign pupils in Germany who tried to learn German. Now, I know the reason of the question-marks that I could read in their eyes. :-)

Haha I'm so glad to hear such things bout bulgarian here
omero,I can tell u I like German.i like it more than english. Most people around me think the opposite. But I can't say i have a feeling toward English. It isn't bad but it isn't so good (for me).
For me the most beautiful are:
    BULGARIAN
    Slovene
    Russian
    German
Opposite to the general thinking I don't find the Roman languages so exciting.Maybe only Romanian.I used to like Spanish but now my interest is gone.

we, the others, can also help you, OMERO, in learning Bulgarian. Sana basari dilerim ve hic bir zaman pes etme (Merha ba! ). I'm not Turk but I know a little bit of it 'coz I live in Haskovo and I have a lot of friends from Turkey, who live here.

About the languages: I think that Czech, Japanese and Chineese are more difficult than English, German or French. It's normal. Everybody says that his or her native and very own language is hard for studying for the foreigners. I know one english family, who moved and settled down here, in Bulgaria. They told me that Bulgarain Language was harder than French and English one. Also, they started learning Russian 'cause it's easier for them (the old school people here have known russian very good like a second language 'coz before 30 and more years Russian and French were been more popular in Bulgaria). According to me, English Language (British or American) is the easiest language ever. 2008, I started studying German at school and I can claim that it's not so closer to Bulgarian and it's a little bit difficult. I have one good phrase which I made it up - If French is the language of the love, than Spanish is the language of the passion, Greek is the language of the ancient culture and Bulgarian is the language of the soul and the heart. My favourite languages are these three - Bulgarian, Spanish and Greek. I wish someday everyone can speak one and the same language. I don't know which one but that's my dream. It would be cool, wouldn't it?
