Just leave out the point after "slumbers", because it's one sentence: The longing is slumbering there in an unperceived manner.

you're right in principle , but in this song Macbard is right to translate
"Hör auf dein Herz" by "Listen to your heart". It comes from
"auf etwas hören" (to listen to sth)

@ nahnou Thanks for checking this for me and thanks for your suggestions. I don't know why I split those lines. In my head I considered them together. It must have been mental fatigue. TTYL

@ lauren.iri Thanks for looking this over for me. The split verbs often trip me up. I must have a blind spot with them. I'm glad I did it right this time. I have many gaps in my knowledge and need help on a regular basis.
