Question "the black of the street"

    Heya all,

Just starting my third month at Kohls, and found this thread when I googled lyrics from what turned out to be Day In Day Out by Aaron Barnhart. =)

I have a song I've been trying to place since I was hired in September; I used to hear it almost once a shift, but it seems to have been displaced by the holiday cavalcade of songs. The singer sounds Irish/Scottish to me, and here's what I have for lyrics:

Something about "the black of the street" in the first verse, and in the chorus. . .

And you're singing your song(s) and (you're living)/(you look at) your life
And you wake up in the morning and (you look up to)/(you're looking to) the sky
And you wanna go away, wanna go, away gone (fifty-nine??)

    Anybody know this one?

    Cheers,
