looking for a song, need some help

right well ive heard it 3 times in the last month. each time ive picked up new lyrics. i think ive got the complete chorus:

and when the morning comes, i wont be around
but if you say the word, i could always stay
and you...hold on to what you got

and the first verse clearly talks about a white prince coming over the plains towards the sea.

google has finally failed me, ive plugged in every combination of these words and changed them continuously but nothings come up

Don't know if anyone ever solved this, but this forum was the only reference I could find on Google to this song. Can anyone help with the ID?

Thanks, Paula, but that isn't it. I think you are referring to "Nobody But You" from Wendy Matthews' debut single. She has kind of an Aussie country rock thing going on. The song I'm looking for is in more of an 80s synth style, with a male falsetto vocal.
