Default Solved: Please help - 70s Italian song

    Hello,

I'm searching for this song almost for a year. I don't know neither singer, nor the name or any words. However I remember the tune almost perfectly. It is very likely one of those Italian bands/singers, who were popular in former Soviet Union, smth like Celentano, Al Bano & Romina Power, Toto Cutugno. I checked those in youtube and last.fm but still was unable to locate the song.

The period should be between 1970-1980. The voice most possibly is solo, male, quite energetic, while the music is melodious with the tune easily getting in the head. The song is not slow. I would describe it as giving heroic feelings and hope, mixed with some nostalgia.

I attach the link to the mp3 , which I made by playing and recording online flash piano. It's 70 kb, 10 seconds, so covers the first half of refrain. I would be grateful if someone told me, what song it is, or at least gave some insights, where I should look for it.

    Thank you!

    Funny one.

Funny because this sounds EXACTLY like Seven Tears by Goombay Dance Band (which is completely unrelated, I know )

I almost dropped my computer, when I checked it on Youtube. Thank you!.. It is the one. I've just searched in the wrong place. My mother ensured it was Italian, because when she received the homemade tape at the 1980s, it was with smth like "Italian songs" cover. Perhaps the iron curtain (I'm from Lithuania, which was part of the Soviet Union then) made it hard to differ the origin of Western songs I was not quite correct with the period too, because I assumed that if the song reached her on ~1980-85, it must have been released a little earlier.

So that's why I had suspicions, that the words were in English, and the words "seven" and "sea" are really there At first I found lyrics of Phil Ochs Green hills, but the imaginable rythm was only partly suitable.

Thank you - one more time.

    Fantastic!
Now it's my turn to drop something...my jaw!

I pass the thanks to my mother who didn't love anything but this song (and, in particular the lead singer's voice) back in 1983/84, always cranking up the radio with this song and "Sun Of Jamaica" (gee, where were my ear plugs again?!).
While I was always hating that cheesy stuff, being deeply hooked on to decent new wavy tunes back then (AFOS, Soft Cell, The Call etc.)

I've listened to Sun of Jamaica and cannot understand why it's popular Yet Seven Tears still gives me joy.
