Dugo sam se mucio sa prevodenjem ove dosta kripticne pjesme pa bih volio cuti misljenje, jeli to otprilike to?
You're Mine - The Idols
2X (Alleluia)
He stands alone on his horse
and the banners are lifted up high.
Everybody says his farewells to him and
afterward looks at him for a long, long time.
More and more he knows that he's remained
his sole and true opportunity.
And much too long he prayed
for the afternoon he really desired.
The guardian angel comes at night
and on a silent wing lifts him up.
In black feathers he remains afterward,
all the bird's heads are his then.
You're mine, you're mine,
and looks at himself.
You're mine, you're mine,
and watches himself while getting dressed.
He would like to be that girl.
He would like to be loved by his friends.
To try to change himself.
And everything that is happening matters.
And long arms talk much.
And youth is very warm and tricky
like the promises of moonlit seafronts.
And he has no reason for remorse,
like boiled eggs everyone was to him.
In their sign everybody is us once.
Let the heavenly city shine for him.
All music shall play for him up there!
All heavens shall now be there!
For the moon the mandolins are dying!
Mothers and fathers take turns!
You're mine, you're mine,
and at night in the woods.
You're mine, you're mine,
and at night in the woods he saw.
He sees himself as he wrings himself away.
He would like to be that girl.
To try to change himself.
In the bathroom he's receiving advice.
In the mirror he's finding messages.
From the showerhead he is lashed
by the tubs bloody fragrant fevers.
On the body there are no more traces.
His skin resembles hyacinth.
With rose oil he is now anointed.
With red hair he is covering his head.
3X All music shall play for him up there!
All heavens shall now be there!
For the moon the mandolins are dying!
Mothers and fathers take turns!
You're mine, you're mine,
and looks at himself.
You're mine, you're mine,
and he looks at himself while he is turning.
He would like to be that girl.
He would like to be his only one.
To try to change himself.
(Christ has risen from the dead,
wakened the mortals from death.
And reneveth their afterlife)
(Save me gentle consoler and deliver me, Alleluia)
Original:
na konju stoji sam
i visoko su podignuti barjaci
od njega se svi oprastaju
i njega dugo dugo gledaju
sve vise zna da je ostao
svoja jedina i prava prilika
isuvise dugo je vole
za stvarno podne sto je zeleo
andjeo cuvar nocu dolazi
i tihim krilom on ga podize
u crnom perju onda stanuje
sve pticje glave tad su njegove
moja si moja si
i sebe gleda
moja si moja si
i sebe gleda dok se oblaci
on bi voleo biti ta devojka
on bi voleo da ga vole drugovi
da proba sebe da se izmeni
i sve je vazno sto se dogadja
i duge ruke mnogo govore
i mladost vrlo topla varljiva
obecanja lunatickih riva
i nema razloga za kajanje
ko tvrdo jaje bili su mu svi
u svome znaku svi su jednom mi
neka mu blista zamak nebeski
sve muzike neka gore sviraju
sva neba neka sada budu tu
za mesec mandoline umiru
majke i ocevi se smenjuju
moja si moja si
i noc u sumi
moja si moja si
i noc u sumi je video
on vidi sebe kako se otima
on bi voleo biti ta devojka
da proba sebe da se izmeni
u kupatilu on prima savete
u ogledalu nalazi poruke
iz tusa sibaju ga krvave
kadine mirisne groznice
na telu nema vise tragova
na hijacint mu koza podseca
ruzinim uljem sad je pomazan
crvenom kosom glavu pokriva
sve muzike...
moja si...
(Hristos voskrese iz mertvih smertiju
smert poprav i suscim vo grobjeh zivot
darovav)
moja si moja si
i sebe gleda
moja si moja si
i sebe gleda dok se pretvara
on bi voleo biti ta devojka
on bi voleo da ga vole drugovi
da proba sebe da se izmeni

Eh.. you are right.. it's mega difficult to translate and you did a very good job! I will see if there are some parts I'd change.
One question: isuvise dugo je vole ?
(Even wikipedia says: ""Moja si" is one of the strangest Idoli songs. The main character personality becomes divided, and his male personality becomes substituted with a female. In the mirror he sees a woman he would like to be, filled with strange comparisons and statements that shows a deep psychological disorder, which in a different form happened to the main character of the novel."
PS
He stands alone on his horse – not sure what to say about this.. it’s equally wrong in Serbian as well (I sure hope he is not standing on the horse lol
On his horse he sits alone
and flags are raised high
Everybody is saying their farewells to him
and looking at him for a long, long time.
He’s becoming increasingly aware of the fact that he’s remained
his own one and only opportunity.
And much too long he prayed
for the real noon he desired.
The guardian angel comes at night
and with a silent wing lifts him up.
In black feathers then he resides,
then all the birds’ heads are his.
You're mine, you're mine,
and looks at himself.
You're mine, you're mine,
and watches himself while getting dressed.
He would like to be that girl.
He would like to be loved by his friends.
To try to change himself.
And everything that is happening matters.
And long arms tell so many things
And youth is very warm and tricky
like the promises of moonlit seafronts.
And he has no reason for remorse,
everyone was like boiled eggs to him.
In their signs everybody is sometimes us
Let the heavenly castle shine upon him.
May every music up there play now
May every heaven be here now
For the Moon the mandolins are dying
Mothers and fathers take turns
You're mine, you're mine,
and the night in the woods.
You're mine, you're mine,
and he saw the night in the woods
He sees himself trying to get away
He would like to be that girl.
To try to change himself.
In the bathroom he's getting advice.
In the mirror he's finding messages.
Bloody fragrant fevers
pouring at him from the shower.
On the body there are no more traces.
His skin resembles hyacinth.
With rose oil he is now anointed.
With red hair he is covering his head.

Thanks for checking it (I suck at tenses.)
My band wants to cover this in English (adding some more rhyme will be a *****, tough.)
We'll probably use it like this (a compromise between accuracy and style):
On his horse he sits alone
and the banners are raised up high
Everybody is saying their farewells to him
and looking at him for a long, long time.
More and more he knows that he remained - Easier to sing this way
his sole and true opportunity.
And much too long he prayed
for the real noon he desired.
The guardian angel comes at night
and with a silent wing lifts him up.
In black feathers he resides then.
all the birds’ heads are his then. - For rhyme
You're mine, you're mine,
and looks at himself.
You're mine, you're mine,
and watches himself while getting dressed.
He would like to be that girl.
He would like to be loved by his friends.
To try to change himself.
And everything that is happening matters.
And long arms tell so many things
And youth is very warm and deceitful - Maybe "impostrous" for rhyme
like the promises of moonlit seafronts.
And he has no reason for remorse,
everyone was like boiled eggs to him.
In their signs everybody is us sometimes.
Let the heavenly castle shine upon him.
All music shall play for him up there!
All heavens shall now be there! - Much easier to perform
For the Moon the mandolins are dying
Mothers and fathers take turns
You're mine, you're mine,
and the night in the woods.
You're mine, you're mine,
and the night in the woods, he saw.
He sees himself trying to get away.
He would like to be that girl.
To try to change himself.
In the bathroom he's getting advice.
In the mirror he's finding messages.
Bloody fragrant fevers
lash (out) at him from the shower.
On the body there are no more traces.
His skin resembles hyacinth.
With rose oil he is now anointed.
With red hair he is covering his head.
PS As for the meaning; I always assumed that, although he does suffer from a split personality (at least latter on), the story is actually told in vignettes with a fluid perspective. Swapping back and forth between his and hers- that of a "real and separate" (at least until, chronologically, the "lunatickih riva" part) women/person.
It's kind of idiomatic and not to be taken literally, I saw that phrase often in epic songs.
The song is in Serbian (just saying.)Last edited by ShultzPD; 05-31-2010 at 05:53 PM.

Hm... translating with an attempt to add rhymes.. even more interesting
Here are some more suggestions
And everything that happens matters
And long arms tell so many things
And the youth very warm and impostrous / how about treacherous?
like _ promises of moonlit seafronts.
To him, for remorse there are no grounds
Like boiled eggs everyone was to him
Under their signs everybody is us at times.
May the heavenly castle shine upon him.
...
For the Moon the mandolins are dying
Mothers and fathers (are) alternating ?
You're mine, you're mine,
and the night in the woods.
You're mine, you're mine,
and the night in the woods, he saw.
He sees himself getting away.
He would like to be that girl.
To try to change his way
In the bathroom he gets guidance.
In the mirror he sees sense.
the tub’s fragrant fevers (i have no idea how i invented bloody here.. maybe it sounded better
~from the shower lash (out) at him
PS
Well yeah the song IS very much Serbian but for some reason it turned on some Azra light in my head so, without thinking, I wrote "Croatian" lol
